But, the thing is, I've just recently bought a new computer, a laptop, and now with TSL I'm having a big problem!
You know when you click 'stealth mode', and your character switches to that cool invisible effect look? I've seen and used it countless times on my old computer for TSL, but now on this new one it's got that silly yellow shield graphic instead. I've done some digging and from what I can tell, it looks like having the graphics option 'Frame Buffer Effects' enabled is responsible for the cool invisible effect, while not having it enabled creates that yellow shield sort of look. So, I'd like to enable it. But the problem is, it's greyed out! In the advanced options settings under graphics options, 'Frame Buffer Effects' is greyed out, and I can't tick the box. Next to it, 'Soft Shadows' is also greyed out and I can't enable it either. The shadows one isn't really bothering me, but I'd really like to be able to put Frame Buffer Effects on. I've looked for about a week now how to fix this, and I've come up with nothing. Also, editing the 'swkotor2' file in the game's program files folder doesn't appear to do anything. Can anyone help me with this, I'm at a total loss :(

No ebay, no GameStop bargain bin, no nothing legit. It's a zip. I don't want to hear nothing about "Why do you have to be cheap? Buy the game legitimately, so that you can be sure you're getting the game." I don't need the lecture.

Now that that's out of the butthole, I WANT SOME DAMN HELP!!!!

Like a crapload of other people, I have SCOURED THE ENDS OF THE EARTH to find a freakin' fix for the infamous "KotOR 2 Crawl Crash" (AFTER character creation, and IMMEDIATELY AFTER the intro clip with the Ebon Hawk as it flies to Peragus). In fact, it has been revealed to me that this does not even exclusively pertain to the Ebon Hawk -- or Peragus, for that matter -- but is characteristic of the ENTIRE "game world" (e.g., Telos, Korriban, The Ravager), so that imported/downloaded save games are not executable.


Now, when I say I have tried everything, I mean I have tried EVERY-FREAKIN'-LAST-****DAMNED-THING that I could find. Basically, the most popular replies remain: "it's a graphic card issue", and "it's a DirectX issue", and "Intel does not support this game", and "it's the mss32.dll file", and "you have to have the 'Dantooine lag fix', and set your 'Disable Vertex Buffer Objects' to '=1'", and "you need the SecuROM patch", and "you need to have the American game patch", and "you need to reset you whole ****damned, freakin', mothermolesting hard drive/desktop/motherboard/system settings/whatever-the-freak-else", and "you need ATI Radeon 9200", and "well, I guess you should have voted for Romney then, huh?", and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!!!........

Look... I can appreciate where all of you are coming from, but NONE of those things work. So, aside from purchasing an "old" laptop so that the game's requirements are met (which I will NEVER do, so don't suggest it), the only solution that is left is to FIND THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM... Has anybody ever thought to freakin' do that? It CAN'T be the mss32.dll, because I have replaced and reconfigured it with everything but the kitchen sink. There HAS to be some piece-of-****e program, or file, or line of code that is SCREWING THIS CRAP UP!! Every other old game that I have "downloaded" has been nothing but functional and thriving. It seems that SW: KotOR 2 -- TSL is THE only pre-2006 game IN THE WORLD that I simply cannot get to run correctly.

Please, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, AND ALL THAT IS BEAUTIFUL AND HOLY, give me a solution that has NOTHING to do with the computer's specs!!!!!! There HAS to be something that I can DOWNLOAD OR EDIT so that this game works, and I will not rest until I have discovered it. So, PLEASE, give me something to go on. But, IF you're going to give me the SAME, OLD FIXES -- such as: anything to do with the computer itself -- then DON'T BOTHER COMMENTING. I don't want to hear them. And, before you ask, NO: I will NOT post my system specs. If you don't know of any solutions that are specific to the game itself, then DON'T BOTHER COMMENTING.

Now, HELP ME!!!!!!! ]]> The Work Bench BSWithFeeling http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=212245 http://www.lucasforums.com/showthread.php?t=212240&goto=newpost Sat, 11 May 2013 08:34:26 GMT So I've just killed Master Kavar in the Throne Room on Onderon, and after it shows the cinematic with the Exile using his purple-beam-of-doom thing to drain Kavar of the Force, I regain control of the Exile, the "Lost Jedi" quest updates to tell me I defeated Kavar, and Kavar's body yields remains. Simultaneously, Talia and Vaklu, who up until this point had been dueling with swords, stop fighting. I can then walk around the whole module without any cutscenes triggering, take Kavar's remains, etc. Invisible remains appear at Talia's feet, and when I try to loot them they contain the "Durasteel Bonding Alloy" item from K1 (I've found this in other places throughout this run-through of the game, usually symptomatic of cutscene bugs). None of the NPCs will talk to me, and I can't advance the "Royal Deadline" quest because Talia and Vaklu have become inactive. This essentially leaves me stuck.
