What did you think of Sion?
I'm curious as to how well-received the only true Sith Lord in TSL really was. In my opinion, he's the only actual Sith in the game, since Kreia is neutral and Nihilus really cares little for the Sith as he is consumed by hunger (on a side note, am I the only one annoyed by the fact that Nihilus' name is never said in the game?) More than that, Sion as a character is totally bad-ass, from his voice to his overall character. I loved that when Sion got angrier, his voice would echo more, and when he talked calmly, like he did when he finally let go of his anger, he actually sounds like a human being, which is just cool character development all around. So enough of my opinion, as I could go on, I want to know what other think.

--- Sion...really didn't live up to expections. He was nothing more than a heir to Malak's legacy, of brutality and destruction. His ability to resurrect was overrated, and you could kill him in 3 tries without breaking his will. When he finally gives up and when you break his will, that was okay...as well as if you are able to romance with Sion. Still, I would have liked it more if Darth Sion broke up to tiny little pieces after being killed off. Sion is, just like Malak, nothing. They had caused lots of damage, they were responsible for death and destruction...but they were weak on the inside and powerless. Malak was secretly afraid of being overshadowed by Revan...and Sion's only reason for living was to serve his master, Darth Traya. |
Hey guys,
Well I voted for "Worst character in the game!". Against Darth Nihilus and Darth Traya, Sion was too cheesy, I could see it being in one of the films, but not KotOR and especially not KotOR 2. I mean he was the only one in the game that said something along the lines of "Your her apprentice in name only, I am the master"... When someone says that in a Star Wars film or something I get extremely embarrassed. Personally I think Sion was maybe for smaller kids, so when you add something like that into a game with such a dark and "adult" storyline it just spoils it a bit. ~Sno0ze |
He wasn't very great but I did like him a lot more than I liked Nihilus.

Quote:
1. Nothingness or Nonexistance - "Consumed by hunger" 2. Death of the self and/or of the consciousness - "He has forgotten his own flesh" 3. Total and absolute destructiveness - "As my feet walk from the ashes of Katarr" 4. The denial of all real existance - "All life.. exists to feed your power.." So all relate to him as you can see. Hope I have just told someone this that didn't already know lol!! ~Sno0ze |
i thought he was a cool charachter but i prefered Nihilus.
|
I thought he was a pretty cool character. He wasn't quite as good as Nihilus, but he was way better than Malak.

Didn't really live up to expectations, since I was waiting a deeper story about him. But I think you should change the "Didn't really live up to expectations" for "I liked Malak better" option. Since I didnt liked him, but I think he was better than Malak.

My favourite Sith Lord in TSL. Better than Nihilus.
|
A cool character. At least he returned to Lightside...
|
^^^That was Ajunta Pall :)
Sion I thought was the better of them all simply because he was like the typical Sith Lord I expected him to be, corrupted by the power of the darkside. His regenerative abilities made it it frustrating but if you sap his will, you can convinve him to back down. Still he exemplified brute strength and he was driven by power, like all those who fall to the darkside. |
Sion was okay. He was destined to always play second fiddle to Nihilus or Traya, because he just doesn't have the character to be the Sith Lord master. He's not a bad character, really, and certainly a lot less cheesy than Malak, but he still can't hold a candle next to Nihilus or Traya, who are both far more interesting and potent characters.
Next to them, Sion is little more than a mindless brute, a zombie, the blunt weapon that must be wielded or at least guided by someone with greater insight or a more strategic comprehension. What G0T0 says of Malak is almost just as true for Sion: "Malak demonstrated no concern for the future of the Republic in his attacks. His stratagems were painfully obvious, intending to crush all resistance, everywhere. There was little thought beyond the complete destruction of anything that opposed him." Sion is not quite as cheesy or silly as Malak, but he's still the least of the sith lords in TSL. |
Like a lot of TSL, awesome concept, lackluster (at best) execution. The Sith that Cannot Die is truly the scariest mo-fo you get in the game. You see the nasty things he's capable of, and he's a hideous boss to fight.
|
Sion's OK, but he's not the best. I expected so much of him, my expectations based on his description back when TSL were still in production, but in the end he turned out to be a misguided zombie.

Sion didnt live up to my expectations, as well as Nihilus, the developers should have given them more story involvement in the game.
|
i thought the concept of him holding himself together by sheer force of will was... cheesy tbqhwy. and, omg, his accent... yeuch.
|
Sion is ok. But he's definitly not ok for a Sith Lord. Way too less..charisma.
Sion a basically an elite warrior, nothing else. Could have been someone's second in command for the dirty work. Shouldn't have been made a Sith Lord. |
I liked Darth Malak more.
|
yeah he was alright but he would always go on these really really long boring predictable rants, his dialog i thought was aweful
|
Sion is my favourite baddy in the game I would have liked to see more of him and see him again in the future. He was originally compared with Malak but he is nothing like Malak IMHO. He always intrigues me and I love the tension between him and Kreia.
Nihilus was an interesting idea but under developed and Krei has a lot of knowledge and teachings to impart but I have to admit as to being left confused by her at the end and reverting to ignoring her on most play throughs except to get what I need out of her. Although I'm playing again right now and might use her a bit off the ship more then I usually do. |
I think that Darth Sion looked like a Sithlord but more of a minion of a Sithlord... i didn't expect him to be the second last thing you fight...
|
I'd say cool character for TSL - KOTOR is better, but he was still kinda cool and his strange uber Force abilities weren't much worse than other ones in the game (I kill 3 jedi masters in 2 seconds because I feel like it)
|
Wow, suprising to see so many that didn't care for Sion. In my opinion, Sion is a character that was completely amazing, and his storyline cannot end in KOTOR 2, I think he was far more clever than he was given credit. HE salive, no doubt about it, I just didn't buy the whole, glad to leave this place at last ending, the power of the darkside cannot be so easily undone. He exacted his final vengeance on Traya, by allowing her to fall at the hands of the Exile, the thing she loved most. Sion is out there, and I believe he'll make a sweeping return in the next game.....if they ever make one lol. But I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him appear in future EU fiction, games or literature, because there is a whole lot of story to examine there. Any other big fans of Sion, check out my fanfic in Coruscant Entertainment district called Darth Sion: A legacy Of Pain..........its on either page 7 or 8.
SION RULES!!!! |

I think he is pretty cool, but in general I thought Nihilus and Sion's "powers" were a little too fantastic and over the top.

He was a bit poo. And his voice was, well, a bit poo too.
He was under-developed as Nihlus was but Nihlus was a more interesting story IMO. If one of them was to retuen in some form, I'd pick Nihlus. |

Yeah, but you'd think that after being hit multiple times by a lightsaber your body is somehow injured; (I'm referring to the exile's duel with Sion); my point was that he could stand up again after being defeated in a lightsaber duel (and I don't think you only disarmed him every single time)
|
I thought he was a rip-off of Vader

If that's true, he's the worst saber duelist of all time. So many cuts. But we all know that's not why he looked like a 1500 years old zombie. |
I personally think Sion is a very interesting character. He is intriguing - I would have liked some backstory on how he became corrupted, however. Other than that he was one of the best Sith Lords ever :D
|
^^ lol that is actually an interesting point and does say something about his abilities.
Darth Sion was a tortured soul and in his final moments he died... the only way he could die was to let go of the dark side that held his shattered body together. His final words implied he found peace with his death and this was enough to do this. I'm sorry but Darth Sion is dead. Quote:
We don't know that Sion can regenerate limbs and i think it's pretty clear as day that he cannot. However, the loss of an arm or leg would not stop him as it would somebody else. A normal jedi/sith would drop their saber and fall... Sion would have the choice to continue (even though you may as well yield). I think if the game makers made a cutscene of the final battle with Darth Sion it would have shown a series of duals, each with Sion ending up with a heavy blade mark across the torso. The would glow red for a moment (he would do his shakey thing he does when beaten) then it would just turn black, blending in with the rest of his scars. just my opinion :) |
Alone, all the Sith Lords in the game are flawed, but together, they embody the Hunger, Pain, and Treachery of the Sith. Of the three, I think Sion is the best. He looks freaky and is, as it has been said before, the only Sith truly loyal to Sith ideals: pure servitude of the Dark Side and a bloodlust for Jedi.
I think it would have been cool if you fought some sort of Sith spirit at the end of the game, formed from the souls of the Triumvirate and having all their powers. It would have been the perfect Sith, with all three 'virtues'. |
He was angry, he seemed wounded.
Throughout the game all the times I ran into him all he wanted to do was hurt me. I didn't like that. Does anyone know where his mother is? |
My view of Sion? A ****ing cockroach, a worm. Why? Heard he tortured Lonna Vash to death. Well I guess in creating a character to despise he did the job well. Aside from that he wasn't some one dimensional evil. He seemed to be hurting, wanting death but had so much anger and hatred he couldn't die. He didn't take pleasure from the acts he committed, which has him one up on Malek, Palpatine, most Sith, ect. Maybe a victim of circumstance.
|
Well, when i was reading about the game, i was thinking I'd like Nihilus better, but he was very boring and didn't do anything apart from attack a planet, Sion was a good character better than Nihilus.
|
Wonder what wonderful treatment did Vash recieve, I mean, her body looks fine and complete. Usually customers of Zion torture ends up everywhere, in bits and pieces.
