Underwater Battles
 

I was just wondering if everyone thinks underwater battles are a good idea. I like the idea of it. Like it could be underwater on Naboo and the CIS could be attcking the Gungan City, so there would be some dry land fighting also.

I'd like it, I remember on the Clone Wars cartoon on Mon Calamari the space battle. But not very many levels though.

Yeah, I REALLY hope they have at least a few underwater battles.

I think this is a great idea... I'd love to have an underwater battle, and I'd like to be able to swim this time... That's one thing that bothers me in SWBF2, you can't swim... You just walk at the bottom and drown...

Yeah, but the CIS shouldn't be able to go anywhere underwater besides in a vehicle and inside whatever other base is underwater.

The CIS already don't drown or suffocate. There should be a special class that can go outside of bases, but only that one class.

Uh, wrong? Any unit (except droidekas - possibly, because of a special droideka-only parameter) takes damage underwater. And there's no such thing as "suffocation" - Polis Massa just has a damage region set up so that droid healthtypes don't take damage.

But I for one would love to see some real water - right now all we have is a glorified hardcoded damage region.

I think at Gametoast there's and underwater battle map you can download. I tried it out and thought is was good, but the jetpacks don't work well for some reason.

Last time I checked, if the Clone Wars cartoon was canon, droids don't suffocate underwater...

If it wasn't for BF2, I'd say it. Since I didn't say that, it is for BF2.

Oh yeah, how do you guys like the map?

It's nice, but the jetpacks aren't very good... It wasn't how I thought it'd be, but it's still fun :p

I know how you feel about the jetpacks - maybe they short circuit underwater :lol:. I also think that cp 1 (I think) is not capturable; I think the creator did this so there would be Quarren to fight (since the Quarren spawn from there).

Are there any videos on Youtube that show that map? It sounds pretty cool...I really wish I could play it...

Please don't rub in the fact that you guys have live (or you just play the pc version) and I don't.

I only have the Xbox Star Wars Battlefront. I sold my Xbox and now have an Xbox 360. I HAVE a good PC, I just don't have many PC games.

I think the underwater lvls should be like a spacebattle in BFII.

Water gets shallow, why would it have to be in only deep water? What if a land level had an area where you fought underwater.

Such as Mon Calamari! Republic starts on the Cruisers on the surface and the CIS are in the Quarren outpost.

I will be even more happy to buy SWBF III if it has underwater battles, that would be so cool!!!

I was talking about a game mechanic, not about what showed up in a TV show.

What I mean is two giant command posts and underwater vehicles who are generelly fighting each other. Maybe you could add some underwater tunnels for some man to man combat...

I'll be happy if Star Wars Battlefront III at least comes out...

Kit Fisto would have to be the republic hero obviously. Also there could have scuba-troopers, which would be awesome!!

Ain't a fan of it TBH, BF1 had the K.I.S.S principle. Fighting in 3 dimensions would just overcomplicate matters!
