Marius Fett's W.I.P

This is thread I will be posting information on any current or future W.I.P mods in. It's easier to just have one thread for all my mods, than make a new one every time I start up a new project.

As of now, I have two main projects on the go, and am planning another.

I also have a few mods in the 'brainstorming phase'

KotOR
:

Male Jedi Robe Replacement
:

This mod replaces the default in game Jedi robes with Jolee's clothing model.

This mod is almost complete, and I am just adding the finishing touches.

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...t/RobeRep1.jpg

This is a render of just one of the retextured robes. You can see them all by visiting this album:

Recruit Marius Fett:

This one is still in the 'brainstorming stage'. I haven't done any work on it yet, and only have a basic outline of what I want to achieve.

Marius Fett will be a Mandalorian that you encounter on the planet Manaan in the Cantina. He is working as a Mercenary, and is bored of the non-challenging assignments he has been getting.

As I said, no work has been done on this yet. I will most likely start work on it in the Summer, as it will be a lot easier to fit the project in.

KotOR II: TSL:

The Tomb of Ninden Vork
:

This mod adds the tomb of Ninden Vork (a character I invented myself) to the Valley of the Dark Lords on the planet Korriban.

Ninden Vork is a Sith that served Naga Sadow during the Great Hyperspace war. While his body was destroyed along with the Sith warship he was on at the time, his Tomb still contains his Holocron, which is said to link the Spirit of Ninden Vork to the living world...

The Tomb is guarded by a horde of fiercely loyal Sith who have long since died, yet remain to guard the secrets of their Master...

The Bridge module from the Ravager has been retextured for use as the tomb, and while it may seem an odd choice of area, it works really well IMHO.

Here are a few sample screenies of the empty area:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...ture/Rav16.jpg
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...ture/Rav17.jpg
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...xture/Rav8.jpg
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...xture/Rav7.jpg
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...ture/Rav13.jpg

As you can hopefully see, the textures seem to fit the area really well, and luckily for me, without too much alteration needed. :p

You may think that a wall of rock is and odd choice for a skybox, but the tomb is underground, (the rock is there to give the impression as such) so it really does make sense.

(I'm working on dimming the lighting too, as the bridge is too light.)

The texture job is 100% done, and i'm currently in the process of adding the content.

You can find more screenshots and renders (i'll upload new ones as I go along too) in this album here:

http://www.lucasforums.com/album.php?albumid=297

**********

That's all I have for now, though no doubt more projects will be added in the future. :)

Feedback and comments are welcomed, as are suggestions. :)

Cheers,

~M

I'll say what I said last time ;)

That is quite a masterful reskin, especially the lighting. The atmosphere is perfect IMO. And lets be fair, its the mods with eye candy that are the most popular. I foresee many downloads, if you get them finished. ;)

Marius Fett 01-23-2009 01:03 PM

*blushes*

Thanks GM! :D

I was really lucky with the lighting really.

It all worked pretty much perfectly 'straight out of the box'...

Except the actual bridge of course. :p

Ferc Kast 01-23-2009 01:50 PM

The module reskin looks amazing, as do the Jedi Robes. :)

Darth Payne 01-23-2009 02:08 PM

Wow, i had an idea for a mod using the Ravager as a tomb last year. Thought it would be too complicated to do though.

It looks amazing.

Don't be shy DDD.. euh MF

You've really grown in your modding skills, these look beatifull.
Wished we could do such a good lighting in custome made areas *sigh*

Finish this one ;)
Would be a waste !

Canderis 01-23-2009 04:11 PM

Thats a very creative choice! Nice work.

Heh, thanks. :)

I'll definitely finish off the tomb.

*returns to arguing with his script*

:xp:

@canderis:

Cheers. :D

Darn you Marius, that's damn good dialog writing. You make me feel like such a n00b. :p

Keep it up!

Marius Fett 01-24-2009 07:19 AM

^

Here's a new screeny, of the Exile finding the Holocron:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...re/Ingame5.jpg

Also, considering the Era which Ninden was alive in, do you think it would make more sense for him to fight with a sword, rather than a lightsaber?

Also, some in game shots of the K1 Jedi Robes:

Naga Sadow era? I think a sword would be more fitting. I think back then the Sith and Jedi needed to hookup power packs to their lightsabers that were connected to the belt of the user. Plus swords are awesome. :D

Darth Payne 01-24-2009 10:39 AM

Maybe he had a sword similar to Sadows Poison Blade?

Marius Fett 01-24-2009 10:44 AM

Sword it is then. ;)

I'm still adding placeables to the actual burial chamber, (the place has LOADS of pillars in it now )

So expect an update soon, with that room pretty much finished.

Marius Fett 01-24-2009 11:37 AM

Ok, i'm pretty happy with the 'burial chamber' now, so here's a shot of what you see when you enter the room:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...re/Ingame6.jpg

Also, here's a shot of the Holocron with some new Sith Monuments added around it:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...re/Ingame7.jpg

Darth Payne 01-24-2009 11:40 AM

Oh sweet.

That looks fantastic.

Canderis 01-24-2009 11:48 AM

What's the file with the lightning called? It makes the place look really cool!!!

Marius Fett 01-24-2009 12:13 PM

Lightning?

Do you mean the purple Dark Side energy around the pillars and Holocron?

You can find it under RIMs>411DXN_s.rim>Blueprint, Placeables>dark_taint.utp

:)

Cyberevan 01-24-2009 08:56 PM

This retexture is AMAZING!

Great job.

Marius Fett 01-25-2009 10:35 AM

Thanks Cyberevan... :D

Since last night, i've been concentrating on adding placeables to the area...

Right now, there are 54 placeables in there, with a possibility of more being added soon... :p

Here's a new screeny of the sight that greets you upon entering the area...

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...re/Ingame8.jpg

Darth Payne 01-25-2009 10:37 AM

Whoa, very cool.

Marius Fett 01-25-2009 11:17 AM

^Thanks! :D

That screeny is ALREADY outdated thought... :p

Here's the final layout of that room:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...re/Ingame9.jpg

I think i'm done with placeables now, but I may add more if I need to...

This brings the final (I think) number of placeables to...

66!

God, that's a lot of co-ordinates..

Exile007 01-25-2009 12:37 PM

That looks good Marius, but in my opinion, you went a bit too crazy on the DS energy. Maybe just have one taint around the holocron?

Still looks awesome though.

Marius Fett 01-25-2009 01:04 PM

There's a reason I put all that DS energy there.

That's the first room you enter, and it will contain quite a few Force ghosts.

The energy is there, as they would supposedly "draw" their power from it to sustain themselves. (Maybe I think these things through too much... :p)

And the more ghosts there are, the more energy needed, right?

@Topic:

Here's V1 of Ninden Vork's sword:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...nVorkSwrd1.jpg

Darth Payne 01-25-2009 04:37 PM

Wow, nice one MF.

Quanon 01-26-2009 01:40 PM

Drooltastic :drool1:

Ohoo, a new double bladed weapon as well, this thing looks to be packed with nice goodies ^_^

Check your PM box MF, finished those gloves for the robe skins.

Marius Fett 01-26-2009 01:49 PM

^Aha! :D

In the process of trying em out now, Q... :p

Thanks alot!

They're loads better looking than my attempts at gloves...

Like you said, those hands were mapped horribly.

EDIT:

Just sent the Robe Replacement mod to KotORFiles.

As for the tomb mod...

I've decided that the current "boss fight" sequence isn;t working. So i'm redoing it. :)

Marius Fett 01-31-2009 08:52 AM

Progress on the tomb is quite slow at the moment...

I'm having hell getting a trigger to work, so until I get that done, there's not really much else I can post on that mod... :p

Anyways, other stuffs:

Here's a TSL skin i've been doing this morning. Atris > Jocasta Nu:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w.../JocastaNu.jpg
http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...tt/InGame1.jpg

Thoughts, impressions, etc... ?

:D

Druganator 01-31-2009 09:33 AM

i think itd be interesting if u made the female robes look like that for tsl the way you did the jolee robes for males in k1

Marius Fett 01-31-2009 09:42 AM

Hmm... I suppose I could do...

I have a feeling someone already did something like that though...

I'll see what I can do.. ;)

not sure if its exactly what your thinking about, but... (for actual download, here)

Anyways, I'm loving what you did with that Atris skin.

EDIT: Or perhaps this one (use above download link)

Marius Fett 01-31-2009 03:14 PM

That's not what I was thinking of... But it's a cool mod nonetheless. ;)

Thanks for the nice comment btw... ^_^

Druganator 01-31-2009 05:11 PM

I was referring to taking those robes and recoloring them to replace every robe for females in game. (aside from the zeison sha type)

Marius Fett 01-31-2009 05:37 PM

^I know. None of the mods linked to are the one I was thinking about which does what you want. (If it even exists, it could just be my memory playing tricks :p)

GeorgNihilus 02-05-2009 09:56 PM

Awesome WIP stuff ...

Wow :golfclap: the idea of retexturing the Ravager is fantastic ... having a 'lighted' forbidden tomb at Korriban valley would be an irresistible download for almost anyone ... I hope u can deal with that trigger to finish this. The dialog and storyline look really promising too ...
By the way, I wouldn't overload the area with more placeables, IMO of course.

Now that you're done with the Male Jedi Robe Replacement mod, I'd focus in this tomb mod if I were you :giggle1: ...

good modding! :thmbup1:

Marius Fett 03-30-2009 12:38 PM

BUMP :p

For any of you who played the original Jedi Knight, (Dark Forces II :p) the hilt in the following render may be a bit familiar to you...

My newest undertaking is a saber pack, consisting of the lightsabers from that game. The seven Dark Jedi weapons, and of course Kyle's/Rahn's saber.

Rahn's is the one I decided to start off with, and i'm fairly happy with what I have so far. The only reference images I can find for these sabers are rather small, so i'm having to go by memory mostly. If some details are off, that might be why.. :p

Any way, enough of my rambling... :p

Qu Rahn's Lightsaber:

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...k/render_2.jpg

http://i714.photobucket.com/albums/w...hn_ingame1.jpg

Yeah, the texture looks flatter ingame, but for all the time you spend looking at it up close, it doesn't really matter... :p

Darth Payne 03-30-2009 02:09 PM

Wow.

Now that is a saber i haven't seen in a *long* time.

Is it finished? Or is there still some work left?

Marius Fett 03-30-2009 02:55 PM

Aside from adding a little CM_Baremetal to make it shine, I think that model is pretty much done.. ^_^

Malxados 03-30-2009 08:40 PM

All looks very nice. I take it that you are using the video-recording-projector-ish (can't think of the SW/futuristic name right now :)) effect for ghosts? If so, nice idea :D

EDIT: Hologram! I feel so smart now :D...

memarik 03-31-2009 02:00 AM

this looks really nice well done :D

The_Dark_Jedi_Malaka 03-31-2009 11:43 AM

Amazing.....simply amazing....

I've often been upset that you can't get into the tombsin TSL, like you can in Kotor1. =[

But this.....this is going to make me love Korriban so much more now...

...I mean aside from the creepy "hallucination" the exile has....and the mass crystal formations......

...Keep up the awesome work....

When it's done, I'll be DL-ing this for sure...... :D

EDIT: Your version of Atris' robe is WAY better than that dirtied "white" robe she has.....someone hasn't been doing her laundry....*shakes finger* Tsk tsk Atris......

....but this.....THIS looks much nicer.....she finally learned to do laundry...horray!

DOUBLE EDIT: Waugh...my brain must be dying....

I didn't realize it was Atris AS Jocasta Nu.....

You should try adding the chopsticks ^__^ That'd look so cool....
