x wing vs tie fighter
 

So I have a question I've been discussing with some friends and haven't been able to find a solid answer.

Which fighter would win in a race, an X Wing or a TIE?

Oh, and that's without using hyper-speed!

Just using their regular engines, which would win?

And why?

An X-Wing would win! Four jet engines. The Tie's ion engines are crap.

X-Wing... Four Engines to One...

Matters little that the X-Wing has 4 engines, when it's already clocked to being equally fast as a TIE Fighter. ;)

But would the TIE shoot the xwing down?
