Game availability and Vista / W7 compatibility

Hi,

I am eager to play good old TIE-FIGHTER again (I remember playing the floppy install version back in 1995/96) and have some questions:

1) Are there any actual LucasArts releases of the collector editions available (in the UK)? Or better have a look on ebay?
2) Are there any problems running TIE-FIGHTER and/or X-Wing on Vista and/or W7? What did you do to get the games run? I have a 64bit AMD CPU and an ATI HD4890 gpu.

Thanks in advance... and may the force be with you!:thmbup1:

The best bet for Windows Vista/7 is the X-Wing Collectors Series, but keep in mind you'll need the compatibility fix on LucasFiles to run it with hardware 3D video acceleration. If you have the 64-bit version of Vista (and maybe Windows 7), you'll also need the alternative MSI installer in order to install the game. In any case, you'll have to look for copies on Ebay or something, b/c they've long been out of retail stores (though if you have something like GameStop in the UK, you might try to find a pre-owned copy there).
