Is there a way to extract the sound effects and dialogue from this game?

No!
I think it was lucas on idea to called the format "imu" to protect from extract the files for listening.
I tried several programs to analyze an play the music but there´s nothing...

I thought i was the only one on earth still playing FOCOM...i discover the game many years later after the release.
beacause i like SW games and try to collect as many as possible,well not all of them. here in Sweden and it´s very hard to purchase new old games..... . Have you tried the cheat codes? look at you tube
