[K1] Revan's Canonical Jedi Lightsaber (TOR Spoilers)

Hey, everybody. With the release of The Old Republic I started doing some research on Revan and found out that this lightsaber is the one tht he constructed upon becoming a jedi.

Here is the picture: http://images.wikia.com/starwars/ima...lightsaber.JPG

I would greatly appriciate it if someone made this saber and released it as a custom item, but if not a custom item just a blue saber replacement. Thanks!

Shaggoth 09-12-2012 01:14 PM

blue saber replacement would be lame :) i'd have unupgradabble standalone version :) wich you'll found somewhere (we still have to discuss about that)

JediRevan001 09-12-2012 06:50 PM

Can you post a picture of the saber?

DeathScepter 09-12-2012 09:35 PM

make it purple upgrable and overpowered. Make it an Iconic weapon. yes there should be several iconic weapons including Darth Bandon's Double Lightsaber, Yuthura's Shoto, Uthar's double lightsaber and Exar Kun's double lightsaber.

JediRevan001 09-13-2012 07:19 AM

Revan's Lightsaber wasn't purple untill he went to the Foundry during TOR

DeathScepter 09-13-2012 12:44 PM

JediRevan001, it was purple during the Jedi Civil Wars as of the ToR Time Line Videos. And my personal opinion, it was a bad move on Bioware/EA/LA part to include Revan and Jedi Exile within ToR. That is for another thread.

As for the lightsaber hilt, 2 long lightsabers, 2 Shoto(short lightsabers), 1 Double Lightsaber verison. And able to change out the color. Mainly to adjust to the player's personal choice.

Sidenote: I would love to see a Jolee's Double Lightsaber.

Nah..it was a great move.
And didn't Revan have one red and one purple? Thats "canon" anyway...but canon is pretty lame to start with.

JediRevan001 09-13-2012 01:58 PM

According to Wookieepedia Revan's New Lightsaber was blue when first buillt during KotOR 1, then in the book Revan he changed it to green, then in TOR he changed it for the last time to purple

Trust me, it is a bad move anyways. Revan and Jedi Exile should fade away into the night and let the ToR PCs be badasses.

As for Wookieepedia is not always reliable.

JediRevan001 09-13-2012 02:13 PM

Anyways, has anyone made the hilt yet?

Qui-Don Jorn 09-13-2012 02:23 PM

It's a good move in that Bioware put those stories to bed.
Maybe now (the fans)..will be able to move on. Done deal.
Won't say what I really think cause I'd never hear the end of it.
*But* I agree that TOR is and should be about *your* PC's. (Read my sig)...

Hey, i've seen your work with saber hilts, if it's no problem could you make Revan's lightsaber? If not I understand, i've just been waiting for someone to make one for a long time.

Qui-Don Jorn 09-13-2012 02:32 PM

Meh.

JediRevan001 09-13-2012 03:00 PM

Okay, nevermind then. Is there anyone you can direct me to?

Keep in mind that fans are stupid and sometimes canon is stupid too. Revan and Jedi Exile within ToR is stupid canon.

As for the Revan's saber hilts, that would be cool

Qui-Don Jorn 09-13-2012 06:06 PM

Was trying to avoid it..but if I did it it wouldn't be Revan's saber specifically, more like a saber within TOR, and then of course, just put in the TSSM mod.
But really I dont have the time right now.

DeathScepter 09-13-2012 06:40 PM

Well good variety of Sabers will be good for Kotor 1. Then again, good variety of gameplay is good too.

Sith Holocron 09-14-2012 08:14 PM

I simply suggest having the color crystal to be changed out like any standard saber. Then folks can modify it to any way they so desire.

If the picture indicates Revan's saber, then I imagine lots of Jedi (or later Sith) made very similar sabers. It doesn't necessarily have to be his, just one that is an exact replica. (After all, doesn't Revan have it with him in TOR?)

Getting custom sabers to work with vanilla crystals doesn't work as easily as one might think. I tried doing it once and the best I could do was make it so when you brought up the color crystal section on your custom lightsaber it'd give you doubles of each crystal you have. If you chose one of the duplicates, it'd change the custom saber to that color. If you chose the second duplicate it would change the custom saber to the default saber with that color.

Trust you? Why would I trust a Revan fanboy?

Alright, that's it for me on this subject.

I am not a revan fanboy. I do like the Jedi exile just as much as I like Revan. you have to hear me bitch about God Mode Sue Palpatine in Dark Empire and why he shouldn't have resurrected. Or Jar Jar Binks, OR Certain Force abilities, OR just the more stupid elements of Star Wars EU.

Christos K 09-16-2012 12:33 PM

Back on to topic, I remember requesting this a while back but I didn't get any replies.

The best option would be to just give the saber in each color. And if you wanted to make it compatible with say Crixler's Crystal Pack, you could include colors from that mod as well.

Alright here ya go..

http://www.lucasforums.com/picture.p...pictureid=9304

I forgot to mention I can't make it for K1 cause it's not installed and those discs are messed up. Would you want it for TSL?

Yes. Yes, I would.

Canderis 09-18-2012 04:42 PM

I can convert it for ya. If you want, just send me the files and i'll get it done asap.

Qui-Don Jorn 09-18-2012 05:41 PM

Cool thanks. I actually fixed the scaling and sizes on it and mapped and skinned it this morning.

http://www.lucasforums.com/picture.p...pictureid=9320

Wouldn't you need my gmax file and can't you convert that to work with 3ds?
I have 18 colors I was gonna do..by hex edit.

Canderis 09-18-2012 05:47 PM

No, send me the exported ascii files.

Christos K 09-18-2012 06:08 PM

Cool. Great work, can't wait to use this with the games. QDJ, any chance you may include this in any future mods of yours? Just curious, either way great work.

Qui-Don Jorn 09-18-2012 06:26 PM

Well, I was just going to put it into TSSM since it is a TOR saber, so I may include it in an update of that, but it won't have so many blade colors.
Waitaminute what am I saying?? I'm getting out of modding.

Qui-Don Jorn 09-19-2012 09:27 PM

Here's the link for the TSL version...

Valorous Knight's Lightsaber

JediRevan001 09-22-2012 12:54 PM

Have you managed to get the files to work in KotOR 1 yet?

Christos K 09-22-2012 03:54 PM

I believe Canderis was going to convert it for KotOR.

Canderis 09-22-2012 03:59 PM

I am a busy guy. I'll get to it when i can.

JediRevan001 09-22-2012 09:33 PM

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to rush you.

Qui-Don Jorn 10-05-2012 10:36 PM

Still no word..oh well.
