Who trained who
A question. Why does Obi-Wan say that Yoda trained him in episode 5 and 6 since it was Qui Gon Jin in episode 1?Did Lukas made a small error here in the plot?
|
Well here is just a guess, but maybe since we see Yoda with the younglings in Episode 2 maybe when Obi-wan was a youngling Yoda helped train him.

That's what The Jedi Path says (though there was a different Grand Master when that was written) - younglings are trained as a group by members of the High Council, then when one is ready, they are taken by a Jedi Knight or Master for one-to-one training in the field.

It just doesn't work for me. I guess someone told Lucas about that hiccup after the Episode I, so he was trying to patch everything up. |

Plus, surely it would make sense to have the best Jedi train those new to the order, so they can be sure their masters aren't giving them wrong ideas (like C'Baoth teaching Jinzler in Outbound Flight, or C'Baoth teaching Luke in the original Thrawn Trilogy)?
