Not being developed by Rocksteady and the rumors of it being more of a prequel and Silver Age Batman have me worried.

Lynk Former 02-23-2013 02:59 AM

Maybe he won't have huge tree trunk arms this time.

Q 02-23-2013 09:39 AM

Maybe SLI will actually work this time around. :whacked:

Obi-Wan Bologna 03-02-2013 12:24 PM

I'm pretty excited for this and the prospect of a silver age Batman I think would be pretty awesome.

urluckyday 03-03-2013 02:35 AM

As long as they still have Kevin Conroy doing Batman...I'll be intrigued enough to give it a shot. He IS Batman in my mind.

GeneralPloKoon 03-04-2013 02:29 PM

Kevin Conroy and Paul Dini is a must! Please?

And let the game be good too...the lack of Rocksteady is scary.

Its time for "I'm Batman" time!

Rocksteady isn't the developer. :(

Lynk Former 04-09-2013 02:29 PM

I'm guessing they're using the same engine/assets to start off with and then building the game from there. If it fits in with the same style and then it'll at least turn out to be a decent game. The question I want to know is whether the voice cast, such as Kevin Conroy, will return...

Dread Advocate 04-09-2013 03:38 PM

Please let it be at least partially based on The Killing Joke. We need Mark Hamill.

I already knew about Rocksteady not developing, and it still worries me a bit. So long as the rumor of it being based in the Silver Age of Batman doesn't become fact, I won't worry too much.

Alexrd 04-09-2013 04:23 PM

I haven't played Arkham City yet (due to DRM and a broken DX11 mode). But I loved Arkham Asylum, which is probably my favourite game of this generation. It's too bad that Rocksteady won't be making it, but if WB keeps the high standard and learn from the mistakes made in City, I think we'll have a great game.

I guess. I'll probably get the GOTY edition with that ugly cover. :p

Yeah, I got the GOTY on PS3 and it is pretty crowded. Had to shove every possible acclaim on one box.

igyman 04-10-2013 05:05 PM

I'm definitely interested in a new Batman game. Will keep an eye on this one, even though it's not developed by Rocksteady.

Obi-Wan Bologna 04-10-2013 06:35 PM

Pretty dang excited for this, gonna preorder next time I'm in Gamestop. I'll probably switch over to collectors edition too when it gets announced.

Red Hessian 04-11-2013 04:32 AM

*Looks at picture*

Never a good sign when you have a "PRE-ORDER NOW" that's bigger than the game title.

On the other hand, that looks like Deathstroke in the spoiler tag, so I think I'll keep track of this one.

If they didn't do that they might miss out on the opportunity to cash in on the success of the prior games before people realise this is made by a different developer. Where would publishers be if their games had to rely solely on their individual merits instead of hype and PR BS?

Answer: Mostly bankrupt, probably.

urluckyday 04-12-2013 08:26 PM

Why does every franchise have to have an "Origins" game?! That's so overused...

While this game could potentially be good if it is anything like Arkham City, I do agree with this. The 'Origins' tag is so outdated.

Just finished City. I wasn't really caught up with Asylum, but I loved City.

I'm excited to hear news of a next game in the series, but, like has been expressed by others in this thread, I'm apprehensive about Rocksteady not being the developer.

I kinda figured Deadshot would appear. "World's 8 deadliest assassins." Didn't Alfred call Deadshot the world's greatest assassin in City?

I also figured Joker, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc would likely appear.

I honestly have no desire to see a Joker that is not voiced by Mark Hamill. There's just no way that anyone can stand up to that guy in terms of believability.

igyman 04-21-2013 01:21 PM

^ Agreed about The Joker. Well, unless they decide to get Jack Nicholson to do it. ;)

Dread Advocate 04-21-2013 08:55 PM

While I do agree Hamill is the best non-live-action Joker, I think John DiMaggio did a fairly good job as him in Under the Red Hood, and Richard Epcar as well in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Absolutely. I just don't think that I would ever be able to play an Arkham game and not compare it to Hamill which would totally take me out of the experience.

Hamill or nothing, thanks.

Lynk Former 04-23-2013 02:17 AM

Bring Heath Ledger back from the dead :p lol, I kid.

I'd like to see Mark Hamill return for The Joker... but I'm also know he's gotten sick of playing the role and doesn't really find all the much satisfaction in it any more. Maybe if they pay him a truckload of money more than they usually pay him...

Obi-Wan Bologna 04-23-2013 11:43 AM

I too would love for Mark Hamill to do it again as well, but if they can't get him, there's got to be a fan out there somewhere who can do a great Joker voice and at least sound close to what Hamill does. The genius of Hamill has no bounds though, the guy can literally do any voice he wants

Thank God I'm not alone.

Or maybe they could slip a little bit lot of The Killing Joke in there, just to be sure Hamill joins the cast.
