Who else loves this show? Who else is pumped for season 5 part 2?!

Q 08-07-2013 05:07 PM

I do, and I am.

What a character study that show has turned out to be, and not just with Walt, either.

"Bitch." :D

He was tight. Tight tight.

Make sure to avoid spoilers before you catch up.

Alexrd 08-12-2013 08:04 AM

Great episode. I'm glad they didn't delay the confrontation with Hank.

Dread Advocate 08-12-2013 10:34 AM

Because I don't get AMC and don't have Netflix, last night was my first experience with this show. For as much as I was lost, I thought it was pretty good.

Q 08-12-2013 01:03 PM

^Oh, wow.

You need to pay Netflix the $8 and have a catch-up marathon. You'll be glad you did.

Sure, he was an evil SOB, but I really liked his style. Calm, collected, refined; intelligent.

Aaaaahhh one week is too long to wait for the next episode! :hor:

Also, isn't hilarious how Marie told Skylar about Hank? Lol, that is so Marie.

So am I the only one who doesn't like these new shows? I only watch re-runs of Seinfeld, X-files and E.R.

I meant starting to watch the show for the first time on an episode that is the climax of the whole series is 'wrong'.

Breaking Bad is easily one of the best shows on TV, because of the interesting plot, real emotions conveyed by simply terrific acting and, of course, the moments of just sheer insanity that the show is famous for.

You really should check it out, from the beginning, of course.

Alexrd 08-13-2013 05:15 PM

As far as quality goes, I put it alongside The Sopranos and 24.

HED 08-19-2013 12:44 AM

Season 5B has been great, but much like Season 5A I feel like there's just not enough Jessie in these episodes. To me, he's every bit as much the main character as Walt but he's been sidelined in Season 5.

JesusIsGonnaOwnSatan 08-20-2013 10:02 AM

Saw episode 10. Some Grade-A diplomacy by Marie this episode.

Also, lol'd hard at Huell and Kuby.

I have a feeling he's going to feature a lot more in the coming episodes - because this is the end of the series, and I think it's logical to expect that the writers would want to deliver an experience that really features the fundamental appeals of the show, which would include the dynamics of the main characters, and specifically, those between Walt and Jesse.

Darth Avlectus 08-22-2013 02:03 AM

I tell ya what, I saw the first few episodes and while it looked to be a show I'd have watched, I decided the better for it not to just cuz I don't want to go back to watching much TV. This show and Burn Notice.

The turns and twists of the life of what would otherwise be a mundane chemist guy. Having a talk with a young guy promising not to be a hooligan but keeping that piece of broken plate once captured in the basement.

I may get the DVD set some time in the future. For now, though I'm content to let it remain unresolved.

Q 08-22-2013 03:47 AM

Just pay Netflix the $8.00 and watch it from the beginning. It's well worth it.

Crazy s@$% that's believable because it could happen.

Make it the one show you do watch.

It's the case with me - I don't watch TV much at all. Except for this, and one other show.

I'll recommend what I've recommended to others: rent out the first season, and have a try of it. :)

Damn, last night's episode was great. Aaron Paul is really amazing.

Oh man, that episode last night. They love their cliffhangers.

Alexrd 09-09-2013 07:32 PM

I thought Hank was going to get shot while he was talking to Marie. Fortunately this show does the unexpected...

Liverandbacon 09-14-2013 06:41 AM

That cliffhanger, my god.

Entire episode was the prey mistaking itself for the predator. Walt though he was hunting Jesse, then fell into his + DEA bro-team's trap. Hank thought he'd caught his white whale, then is outnumbered and outgunned. Walt thought he was top dog, but now it seems likely that he'll be forced to work for the Neo-nazis, as a subordinate (especially if Todd dies).

The thing is, Walt just doesn't have what it takes to be a Gus. He treats EVERYONE, even the people he cares about, as tools, and in such an obvious way that they can tell. That doesn't inspire the sort of loyalty Mike had for Gus. In the end, he's just a guy who's good at chemistry, not a leader, and it'd be impossible for him to hold onto the top dog position for long.

Steered away from the content of this thread just in case of spoilers, but I take it you can all recommend that I start watching Breaking Bad from the beginning? Anything I should note? ( "Slow start, give it a chance and it will pick up" ) or something?

The first episode should hook you up.

HED 09-14-2013 10:53 PM

I got two of my friends and each of them said the show didn't really grab them until around episode 5 or 6.

Alexrd 09-16-2013 09:12 AM

Well, this is it. Only two days till the final episode. I'm sad to see it ending, but also glad that they're wrapping things up, as opposed to dragging the show on to milk the cash cow as much as they can.

Q 09-28-2013 07:29 PM

Best part is that we still don't know WTF's gonna happen.

Oh, please, please, please, don't be a retarded cop-out like Battlestar Galactica's, Lost's and The Sopranos' endings were. :ohdear:

purifier 09-28-2013 11:51 PM

Well I watched the episodes up to the part where:

when Breaking Bad first came out on AMC. Besides, I thought for sure that was the end of it. But after that, it got too intense for me. Same with Sons of Anarchy, stop watching that after a while as well.

Oh man, too much drama for me. :D

Q 09-30-2013 03:02 AM

And Gilligan delivers. Satisfying as hell.

W00t!

Alexrd 09-30-2013 01:01 PM

A great ending for an excellent series. In terms of quality, it's up there with The Sopranos.
