Malak had just arrived at the Jedi Temple with intensions to recruit more Jedi to the cause, most important, Bastila Shan. He knew his master knew her as a child, he was a few years older than her though. His master told him that he must get Jedi to join the cause and Padawan Shan was one of them. He was about to fullfil his destiny as Revan's apprentice.
