As for "soloing" the game, you can definitely do it in either game, especially TSL. In KotOR, I would do as C-A-D advised and consider Soldier/Guardian.
Of course, after playing the game so many times, I assume that Revan should be much stronger than he is in the vanilla game, so I use KSE to amp his stats to what I feel are appropriate for a Force User of his level, especially cranking up his intelligence (what he's renowned for). This tends to make him a tank from get-go... so that is the easy way!!!
