Yes I tried step 8 but don't think my link was correct. The game is in a different location on my computer and I'm not sure how to correctly write the link. Here is where it's located now:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic\LaunchKOTOR.exe"
