I view it more like CptPriceless - characters you have RPed you get attached to (at least I do) in ways that don't happen with other media. Introducing terrible ends - only two years after you went out on a high - makes me sad.

I sympathize. Problem with canon is that everyone seems to have their own and it's often in conflict with the official version.
I guess if you stick to the first two, there'll be no need for the third.
