Young Indy DVDs

Who's got them and who just wants them bad?

If you have it give me a rundown. I've got all the old videos.

I've got them.

They're the re-edited movies. No old Indy whatsoever.

I'm not done watching the entire set yet, (it's really long) but so far the quality is excellent, better than probably ever aired. The documentaries are pretty good. And long. Like really long. The one on T.E. Lawrence was 35 minutes, and it was one documentary of four on that disc.

I got it for 69 dollars on sale. Regular it's 99. I'd have rather seen a set more like the movies had. Full length documentaries on the MAKING of the show, not just the background history. Audio commentary, etc.

And I'd rather have the episodes, not the movies, but it's still worth it I think.

I've got Volume 2 - The War Years. Volume 1 seemed to contain all the crap stories, so Volume 2 and 3 should be great! And 2 so far is!

They're all the VHS edits, so yeah, no Old Indy. Although if the video versions hold true, we should get the only important one for Volume 3 - Harrison Ford in Mystery of the Blues! (which unfortunately is an awful story, but who cares with Indy himself turning up?)!

I'll hopefully have a review up for Volume 2 at either www.mixnmojo.com or www.indyjones.net (or both) soon as I've finished it. It's gigantic!

Volume 3 I'll then review in May for Mojo's special Indy Month 2, in honour of the new movie! There'll be loads of stuff, so stay tuned!

I like the Mystery of the blues one, but I was in band all through high school so I find the music stuff interesting, also Eliott Ness is the man.

Hmm. Maybe my opinion will change when I watch it again. I mean, I didn't like Oganga - Giver & Taker of Life the first time I saw it, but just watched again now and thought it was great!

The main problem I had with it was that it didn't really feel like an Indiana Jones story - not enough excitement, too much him playing music.
