What is the name of the file that has the npc's in it for academy I looked in assetts0.pk3 but I couldn't find it. In outcast it was npc.cfg or something

Look for all the .npc files in ext_data, they're in assets1.

What does this have to do with mapping?

Um, NPCs make maps more than just a bunch of empty rooms. Enemies, civilians (if Outcast/Academy had any) and allies are all NPCs.

Because it doesn't directly involve the making of a map, doesn't mean knowing everything you can about NPCs, and other extentionalized data - in fact, knowing as much about the game, allows you to make better maps and levels than otherwise.

I don't like quake, never liked quake, and don't like Star Wars quake. So basically jk2mp.exe never gets used on my computer.

Shaving is not a high priority with Jedi. Would you want to shave with a lightsaber?

also, NPC's fit a whole lot better in mapping than in the modelling or coding forums
