Keep Cockpit views
I keep hearing depressing rumers that the developers will take the cockpit views away. That will make a potential superior game a great failure.I mean that should have the cockpit views the flying and ground vechical control be like in the Rogue Sqadron series, where you can lock around the cockpit and the information like radar, ship damage /shield rateing be listed on the instrumentation display mointers in the cockpit

Personally, I do not see why Pandemic Studios would remove cockpit view...
I'll send them a mail to ask more explanations, once I have more time...

Even though I never use it I believe it should be added. It's just nice to have the option. The ability to look around the cockpit and stuff would be a nice addition too, if they could find the time to add it.
Not being paranoid doesn't mean someone isn't trying to kill you... or does it?

I can only agree...
Without a cockpit, a star-ship is nothing ! (And it isn't a ship anymore, indeed)
This is the same thing for SWBF II and the fact cockpit view will be missing...
One word for that : Un-realistic...

Okay from what I heard, Pandemic didn't take it out on purpose really, they just didn't have enough time to get in in time for release (that's what I heard at least). If so, just sounds like more proof that the games being rushed. Maybe they can put it in in a patch or something...

This thread should be moved in the correct place...
We're talking of SWBF II in one of its prequel's forums...

Even though I dont use cockpit views that much, Pandemedic Studios better not remove it!
P.S. It's also 1000000000000000 more realistic!

Maybe it is just a rumour... But if the cockpit view is really cut off from SWBF II, I think Pandemic has a valid reason to have done that. Something else than to save money...

I doubt it's a rumour. Multiple new sites have reported it as if Pandemic said it themselves. A curse on pandemic I say.

It is strange... According to you, what are the possible explanations of this removing ? (I don't think it is because of the fact some players could have the spacesickness... )

I don't see too much point of a cockpit view on most vehicles when the external cams have a better field of view. Although it does look cool to go "woo, this is what it's like inside an AAT!"
I'm on the fence, but it's not something I could cry about either way. Although the fps view (on foot) is RUBBISH!

Cockpit view is just a question of realism...
Remember we're not here to denigrate First-Person view by treating it as a " rubbish"...

Yeah Lol . I use third person view on ships and speeders just so I can see what is around me. But all video games with ships ect. should have first person view AKA cockpit view. I would be very suprised if it (cockpit view) is left out of SWBF2!

I was talking about the first person view on foot being pretty unimpressive. The dark trooper carries an E-11, the arms are too thin, and Unreal Tournament has better "gun-bobbing!"
They should do it more like Half Life 2 where the gun is at least in proportion and the posioning of it varies relative to where it would lean on your shoulder (get a replica rifle and try running and aiming up/down to get my drift).
Also, it'd be neat if the character's had the weapons visible on the back or holster, like in Mercanaries when not in use, rather than spawning from nowhere. It'd also help to distinguish classes that look similar (Imperial and CIS) better.

I always thought that was weird when the weapon just came from 'nowhere'.
They should do that with the holsters.
So i am completely with you RedTech
and by the way, I voted no when i meant yes...

I use the cockpit view. Keep it in, but don't rush it. Make it good, even if it has to be added later as a patch.

Yes, I would rather have it done right even if it is a little late then have it included sloppily, or not at all.

Well, I regularly use cockpit views for verhicles such as tanks. It feels more realistic blasting the stuff otta your target.
Fo air ships though, I use NON-INVERTED controls and external views. Easier to fly past obstacles.

I find the AAT FPS view completely rubbish though, It may be realistic, but when one thinks about it, if you're going to be able to be "sliced" out of a vehicle, it'd be nice to be able to see an engineer running towards your tank's rear!

Easy to say when you're not playing as an AT-ST. I mean, every level they're in, they're at least way too big for it.
Also, think of "creative" hijacking on levels like Endor or Yarvin IV. They'll be 'spawning' behind the trees!

Yea, I noticed that too. Anyway, if there are two units in a vehicle, the top weapon can be rotated to kill any near-by engineers. Of course that requires team work, something missing in most of the server's I've been in...

I fear that, but it should be amusing. Personally, I'm glad the feature is in. I don't play online, I co-op with a friend, so it should encourage "watching our six". It makes me wish you could invite guests online, like in Halo, seeing as how my friend's getting it for PS2.
