The evil atris doesn't look very... evil.
More like a bad hairday with contact lenses and makeup
(The clothing looks too light to be a dark and evil red, the eyes look greenish yellow instead of redish orange, and the skin and lips look too drastic.)

Just my opinion though

This is going to be one majorly cool mod! I'm looking forward to playing this one when you finish it!

Thanks! I look forward to finishing it too!

Some pictures from the latest work I've done on the Tomb. Please note that some of the rooms shown may not appear in the final version.

Not much left to do here (I hope!), except some placeable jiggling, a few puzzles need to be installed, and I need to double-check the room lightmaps/textures and put them together as a unique module (rather than replacing bits in 262TEL's .lyt file!).

Also, I think I have discovered the reason for the room problems I experienced before. It seems that it happens regardless, should you decide to alter the number of rooms in the module layout. Same goes for the doors. Rather than deleting and re-instating rooms, I suggest that in future, rooms names in the .lyt are replaced. I haven't tried it yet, but I suspect it might just work.

Thanks!

Mac, I may have something for you to test sometime soon

I've sorted out the problems with textures in those screenshots (some areas just appear to be black)...Turns out I missed out a couple of textures for renaming/texturing...*facepalm*

I have encountered one problem with the custom layout/module texture editing - when you try and leave these areas, you almost always crash the game. D'oh!

This is really cool!!! Could you post some kind of "diary of the mod"?. I mean, to use it as a tutorial.

"Revenge is never a straight line. It's a forest. And like a forest it's easy to lose your way to get lost When engaged in combat, the vanquishing of thine enemy can be the warrior's only concern. This is the first and cardinal rule of combat. Suppress all human emotion and compassion. Kill whoever stands in thy way, even if that be Lord God, or Buddha himself..."

Err, maybe. At the moment, though, a lot of the "diary" would be:
"sat around and bashed head against the wall, asking why I had cursed myself to endless frustration by beginning this blasted thing", or "tried [x]. It failed. It shouldn't have done. Damn the world.".

As to a tutorial, a better person for writing a tut on new planets would probably be RedHawke, who is rather the father of planet mods (and the only person to have released an entirely new planet within the original story to date).

I see many people asking for Tutorials on making new planets, but it just cannot be done, especially catering to newer modders, here's why...
  • You have to have basic knowledge of modding the game first...
  • You must know how to use KotOR Tool.
  • You must know about dialogs.
  • You must know about character files.
  • You must know about scripting, I cannot stress this one enough.
  • You must know about placeables, the horror... The Horror!
  • You must know how the area .git files work.

In the end you have to have a working knowledge of quite a bit before you attempt to tackle this kind of mod, I could write a tutorial, but you would not understand it unless you were capable in the areas as I listed above, and by then you could figure it out on your end quite easily, and wouldn't need a tutorial anyway.

A small promo, to show off the first of (hopefully) three lightsabres in the finished product. This one is (at the moment) Ulic's Light Side sabre. The final version will be green, not blue, and I will have skinned it:

Nice looking saber DIS. Would be nice to have a blue version as well when you are finished making the green one. And a red version. And a purple version and a ... Um yeah All the colours. But I can do that myself.

Oookay. It's been some time since I've updated on my modding projects, so I thought I'd do so now. I'll admit it: I haven't done a great deal since the last time I updated this mod. Nonetheless, here is a rough approximation of everything I have done:

K1 modding done in the last 3 months:

TSL modding done in the last 3 months:

I've also come up with a more...unique model for Ulic's LS sabre.

Yes, the glowing green Candalore-lookalike is a new Ghost Ulic.
Yes, the guy in the K1 pics is meant to be Ming the Merciless (I was gonna release it on RH's birthday, but I didn't get around to it).
The main background in that K1 picture is of a new Tatooine Dueling Arena I've been doing a bit of work on.
The sword in that picture I call P'tang.

The pictures in the top-left corner show some recent experiments in walkmesh editing gone wrong, and also, it seems that Bioware originally intended there to be 6 tombs in the Valley of the Dark Lords, as opposed to 4...

I should add that not everything in these pictures is necessarily going to be used by me. It's just stuff I've done.

Hey! Looking good. Mind posting a bigger picture of the Valley of the Dark Lord's experiment? And the Tatooine duelling arena. Looks interesting .

Sure!
Tatooine Arena
Walkmesh experiment 1
Walkmesh experiment 2
Walkmesh experiment 3
Walkmesh experiment 4
Walkmesh experiment 5
Walkmesh experiment 6

(NB: These aren't separate experiments - they're all from the same one - aside from the Tatooine arena shot, which is from an entirely different project)

Back again!

New pics, first from some new mods coming soon...

From my Mavic Chen reskin set: - Too terrible to release!

I'll post pictures of the DS transitions later.

A new gun I've been working on

The prizes on offer at the new duel rings (modelled by clone troopers by Prime et al.)
Some weapons I was thinking of releasing as a pack...

And now some new pictures from Rhen Var:
New LS lightsabre (still in need of a little work, as you can see)

About the competition may it be the atrium from your Rhen Var mod?

Anyway the mod looks very cool, as those mods for k1. I hope you are able to finish them quickly so we can have other reason to play TSL and K1.

It looks like that thing from KoTOR 1 with the rings where you have to transfer the power from each one.

A classic answer for a classic question. By the way What the **** was that image? That competition has standed for too much time IMO.

Rhen Var looks great! As for the competiton is it the grip (dont know if you call it that but the place were you grab it) of a sword.

I'm afraid not.

@ignarn: True.

The answer is this:
The top of one of these

I was gonna make a helmet shaped like the dome and grid-bit. Unfortunately, it's rather ground to a halt...I want to get it just right, and also have shifted focus to Rhen Var for the moment

Also, no these aren't complete, hence they are in a 'Work In Progress' thread

One or two of the earlier things have been released - see post #63

Well, this seems as good a time as any to show off the latest piece of work done on Rhen Var: it's addition to the galaxy map!

I will change its position to a more realistic one ASAP
