Is Gmax and 3d Max one and the same program?

I mean I've tried to import the jk3skeleton.glm into gmax, and when I do, it just says that's this won't work... Anyone knows something about this? Plz answer

No, Gmax and 3D studio max are not the same.

Well, yes and no. GMax and 3DSMax are technically the same. GMax is a free, cut-down version of 3DSMax, while 3DSMax is the extremely high-priced full version.

Well, You cannot wieght with Gmax for exemple, but you can with 3ds.
