navigating?

How on earth do I navigate in the swamp???! I have the clock on the raft and the map, which direct me as first point 12:05 E and then 12:15 E, 12:55 S, 1:45 E, 2:00 S, 2:55 W, 3:55 E and 4:05 E. BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO! I have tried different directions but the clock never shows 12.05! And Guybrush keeps saying he's lost. I know that! I don't understand how to use these directions!! Pleeeeze help me!
