JO Hud in JA

Since I'm a bit of a fan of Jedi Outcast over Jedi Academy, I've been trying to convert Jedi Outcast's main in-game HUD into Jedi Academy, and call it "Jedi Outcast Plus" (because that's my opinion of Jedi Academy). But unfortunately, I lack the full game, so while I have all the graphics, I have no way of actually making the menus work properly.

Are there any mods that exist already on this sort of thing? I know a HUD can be changed around rapidly, but quite frankly I don't understand how a custom HUD is made, nor do I think I ever will understand.

I've already tried carrying over the hud.menu from the JO demo I have, but I simply got a HUD-less screen. Is there any way to get the Jedi Outcast HUD into JA? Or more importantly, has it been done already?

Why not just copy the JO hud over, into JA? Via .pk3 files.

I think JA's HUD is written a little differently script-wise.

Also, where can I find the refraction shader? I have interest of making an MGS2 Stealth camo shader for the Solid Snake, Raiden, and Gray Fox player models.
