I remember when I first played JK2, I had a really ****ty graphics card. The frame rate was appauling, everything was pixellated, if I tried to do even x1 antialiasing it was unplayable. I begged my husband to get me a top end card and he did for my birthday. My God the difference it made was amazing. There were even effects on the force powers that I didn't even know existed.
Now I'm not saying graphics make a good game, gameplay does and always will, but good graphics can certainly enhance a gaming experience.
And now I'm off to play Little Big Planet and then watch the election results as they come in.

I just found this.
That would be great, if a Rogue Squadron game was created for Wii styled play. Even if it was sold on the Wii shop channel, and featured a special mode for the Wii remote. Anything would be nice, really. But yeah, I certainly hope this develops. I haven't play these games in awhile come to think of it.

It's too bad Rogue Squadron 2 and 3 weren't released on PC as well though... otherwise the activity in this forum would've continued for much longer.

It needs to become more than a rumour first for that to be possible though.
So far it's an EGM rumour which hasn't gotten anymore info lately. But we'll see what goes down in the next few months. If there isn't anymore info then we can safely say that there's nothing coming of this.

Probably got cancelled. Andwhat do you mean Wii vs. Gamecube graphics! You can't surpass the graphics the Gamecube brought to the Rogue Squadron series! If they put it on Wii, it would be downgraded! The Wii has the worst games ever and if they make another game for the Wii, I'll be first in line to snap everyone of those Wii games in half! Look out, Lynk Former you might find the great GwannaSauna on the front page of your local newspaper

Okay.
And explain just how the game would be downgraded if it were ported to Wii. As for your opinion about Wii's games, that's fine.Obviously you don't like Wii... I just want to know what facts you have to support your belief that Wii is a downgrade from the GameCube.
And I don't think you committing suicide is important enough for anyone to report about.

The Wii is only good for one thing. Staying up late after work with shrooms playing the Legend of Zelda. But beyond that, couldn't care for it much.

Yes, Gunner. Train that next generation of gamer to become X-Wing pilots.
I'd really love to see the RS Trilogy come out so I can have an excuse to revamp roguesquadron.net and get information and stuff listed for all of the RS games released and BfN as well.

He already beat the SW lego game for the PC and the one on his DS. We had just about beat all of RS and only needed to get Gold on the death star trench so we could play the hoth level but he accidently erased our active player... He also like to watch me play JK:JO and has tried it a few times himself.
We just played Wii bowling tonight. I won a few times too.

Wii Bowling is probably like the most played Wii Sports game lol. They should release a stand alone Wii Bowling game and put a tonne of extra stuff in it or something. I'm sure the masses would eat it up.

We played the one where you try to knock over as many pins as you can and I beat my kid bad. He had 410 and I had something like 570 but only because I got a strike on the last frame..
Then he wore me on the boxing game, I had never done that one before. Worked up a sweat.

Don't mind my bit of thread necromancy here, but has there been anymore chatter about releasing the RS trilogy on the Wii? Soup up the graphics and textures a little, and you got a pretty sweet title there. I recently got RS3 for gamecube that I play on my Wii (yeah I know it's crazy old, but I never wanted to buy a GC, to back off dude!).

Nope, no news about it at all. What we do know is that Factor 5 had a PS3 title which was scrapped and is apparently working on at least one Wii title which isn't the Rogue Squadron Trilogy. Also, LucasArts doesn't seem to have any interest in the series.

With the demise of Factor 5 I thought this rumor wasn't going to come true. And then today I saw an article on Gamasutra detailing how former Factor 5 employees are suing White Harvest for fraud. Allegedly White Harvest is run by the same management that ran Factor 5 and the ex-employees think assets of Factor 5 were fraudulently transferred to White Harvest. In any case, the part that really caught my attention was this.
Quote:
|
Factor 5 most recently released the dragon-based flying game Lair, which underperformed commercially. But according to the report, Factor 5 wasn't done with Star Wars. [Plaintiff's lawyer James] Smith claimed that Factor 5 founders transferred work on a Wii version of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron to Blue Harvest.
|
LucasArts apparently was the biggest creditor of Factor 5 due to a $4 million loan they received from LA back in 2003. So it seems like the game is indeed in the works but who knows how development will be impacted by the legal issues stemming from Factor 5's closure?

Rogue Squadron Trilogy better be the last thing Factor 5 does before it dies a miserable death *shakes fist* I demand it... cause at this point, that's all their good for now.
