Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes
Entertainment Weekly apparently got an exclusive first look at a new Star Wars game in the works and has posted a trailer for the game on their website. According to ew.com Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is scheduled for a September 15 release and will allow gamers to play both Jedi and clone trooper characters. Krome Studios is listed as developer for Republic Heroes.
The big shocker for me came at the end of the video trailer when I saw the Games for Windows Live logo. LucasArts is going to release a game for the PC?! Whoa! Stop the presses! In addition to PC the game also looks like it will be coming to Playstation, Nintendo Wii and DS, and Xbox 360 platforms.

Not much game footage, but what there was doesn't look all that promising. Kinda looks like a Clone Wars version of Lego Star Wars. Lame platforming and multiple characters.

I wasn't going to read further, until I saw "PC". But no... not interested.

Creativity is obviously no longer a factor in LucasArts' games. I don't have a single ounce of interest in this.

Holy Crap. Clone Wars based AND made by Krome? A double shot fail?
Did Krome give them a buy one get one free coupon?

I'd be willing to give this a chance but the fact that they went back to Krome Studios after a disappointing version of TFU and the terrible Clone Wars for Wii is disturbing. Those games did not get good reviews at all, makes me wonder if they even care about that as long as it sells well.

Chill. Those reviews were overrated. PS2's TFU is actually way worse.

TFU for PS2 was the same as the Wii version minus motion controls and multiplayer, and also developed by Krome Studios.

Why does Lucas Arts continue to try this Clone Wars franchise, they are not exactly heading in the right direction with the majority of their sales{which is probably not in the Clone Wars Franchise}
Frankly, this game does not look like it will be a huge success. Lucas Arts...why?

Well I know they don't care if it's not what we the dedicated fanbase want, but one would think they'd at least prefer favorable reviews. :/

These games don't actually sell that well, Jeff.
What it is is that outsourcing to Krome Studios is CHEAP. It doesn't cost LucasArts much to outsource to them and even if the game sells like crap they'll still get some return since it's a game with the big and popular "Star Wars" name attached.

i wouldn't pay $60 for it...
Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

after watching the trailer, it doesn't seem like a bad game. I wouldn't pay more than $40 for it though, but that's my opinion on almost any game.

Clone Wars to Star wars is Like Doomsday to Superman TBH, It has destroyed SW imo. even swtor has blatantly adopted a "Lets make it as kid/casual fan friendly, Clone warsesque and recognizable, to make more money and get more subs" Attitude.
I mean Star Wars has never been the deepest grittiest Films made, but Clone Wars is a massive fall from the groundbreaking, used future, unlikely hero, story of 77-83. /rant

^ Agreed. There's some interesting stuff in the prequel canon (creepy cartoon graphics and the wii not being among them), but it's a fraction of the total star wars universe. What we're seeing from LA is the same as if they released the entire original trilogy and only made comics/merchandise/games/books etc based on one of the movies.
I mean seriously, has anyone seen Luke? Luke? Luke? Where are you LUKE? What ever happened to Luke? He was a cool cat.

Yea Luke was a neat dude, swung a laser sword around, had daddy issues, but still didn't afraid of anything.

I'll buy it. This time they will only get me for 3 copies instead of 4 like TFU. I’m official out of the demographic that plays the junk they are producing. Unfortunately my cousins are still in that demographic, so I’m still supporting this inferior junk.
