Why do I have a "Junior Member" rank now instead of "Rookie" ? Is there a way to change that back?

Your title changes ever 250 posts or so, at 250 posts it changes from Rookie to Junior Member.

Oh, then I totally missed something... I thought that the rank changes first at 500 or more posts... thanks!

It does change at 500. It also changes at 750. It won't be until 1000 posts to get a custom title (and some time for the system to register you being able to have a custom title)
