Which OS are you using? The reason I ask is that swconfig is too old to properly ID newer versions of Windows.

Windows XP Service pack 3....


Edit: oops, it says 2000 since i was trying various compatibility modes.

And also, service pack 3 is not at fault, i tried this the first time with 2, and it had the same outcome.

Are you setting CPU affinity every time you launch the game? if not, you'll absolutely have to do this:
