Ever thought about this one?
I think it's great and not as silly as the Zak McKracken FM-Towns variant ...

ATMachine has that, doesn't he? I'm sure he could scan it at CrazyRez if we wanted it

It's just that a lot of fans have waited on the scan, and when the poster have gotten scanned there is no progress on it. If you do not want to work on it, can't you release the unfinished one so others can try.
Don't get me wrong, I love your work with these beautiful posters, but a lot of Grim Fandango fans have been eagerly awaiting the possibility of getting that great poster on their walls, and it just seems like the progress has reached a dead end.

If you've followed this project from the start on, there's never been a dead end. And now be patient.

Be patient. This stuff doesn't happen overnight. In someone's spare time. For free.

By the way, here's what I did while running this project head first into a dead-end:

(Click for a slightly bigger version)
Some of the steps (click for big):
First I've created the composition in Photoshop with characters and objects rendered in 3dsmax (and some photos, like the sky and the ocean), which already took quite a while. The next step was basically tracing the image with a pencil, although it sounds more easy than it was. The third image shows the whole thing further down the process, with the pencil drawing color corrected and highlights drawn in as well. I've also added some artificial grain, to fake more detail and blend the pencil lines a bit better. Coloring is mostly based on the initial comp, with a few tweaks. As a finishing touch some brush strokes are overlayed and the credits and logo added.
When I started this project I actually wanted to do a poster for each ToMI-episode, but after realizing how much work it was (even though I did use three finished 3D-characters from my other poster), I still have to think about that

Yeah, I'm thinking about holding these back until all five are finished (shouldn't take longer than a year though ).
BTW, it isn't that big. Since I drew it for real I did it at A4-size, which was more convenient. Printing it much bigger would probably look just stupid, with the massive pencil lines and all. But I guess when putting up all five, it's better if they are at this handy size.

I love you, Laserschwert. One small thing though: could you also make me a bigger house, so that I actually have room to hang these?

I was always wondering, why invaluable isn't the opposite of valuable... or maybe it is?

Hehehe, yeah it is a bit confusing..however..
I'm not a native speaker but I think it is because when you use 'invaluable' in this sense, it is applied as a verb instead of an adjective. So what I'm saying is: "It's not possible to 'estimate a value' for this; it is invaluable."

The Launch of the Screaming Narwhal is AMAZING! I love it!
Do you actually print any of your own posters btw?
PS Could you build me a poster house too? It would be really convenient.

Well, I only have two printed at my place, MI1 and MI2. Furthermore I have an original FOA-poster and several original Sam & Max posters on my walls. There's only so much space, so I feel your pain guys

The bartering of human semen was outlawed by the LFN after the 'Hermione' disaster of 2004. So you'll have to meet up to accomplish this, and you can thank Gabez for that.

For now, here you are:

*Edited to make it "edisons" since there is more than one.

Sorry, I didn't have time to check out that the link would work. I just assumed... It was supposed to be "edisons", not "edison".
