If you could change one thing...
If you could change one thing in either game what would it be?
(ex. what classes your party-members are)

If I could change something in both games, it would be to have cooler/unique saber hilts, not those little plastic tubes bioware made for us. Though this has been obviously solved by the modding community, it would have been a nice touch. I would have also liked to see more alien party members.

For KOTOR, more planets/quests. For TSL.....that they'd finished it.

KOTOR: More content
TSL: Release the cut content in a patch or something.

KotOR: Better Engine, I know that KotOR's engine isn't bad I just know that I would've loved a much more "powerful" engine that would allow us to have a huge amount of polys on screen and not slow it down as much as it would using the current engine, assuming the same machine.
TSL: With almost everybody else here, moar content! (Seriously, 20hrs to beat K1 with few sidequests and 16 in TSL with almost every sidequest complete, wtf?)

60 hours for kotor1
60 hours for kotor2
looks pretty much the same. But K2 really made no sense at latter stages of the game.

K1: more lightsaber colors and moves
K2: Completed and have also planets Hurrikaine, Hassaq, and more Korriban (all the K1 areas AND able to go out the back hole area in the cave).
EDIT: Korriban cave in both games.

EXATCLY i agree with you on that one they should have finished the game, personally i know this would never happen but if i were obsidian doing tsl i would threaten to drop the game if they would not let me finish it screw getting it out for christmas LA screwed up a good game.
also i dont htink it would be to hard to release the cut content in a patch they didn't have much left to go, i mean now they are making TOR how do u know they will not screw something up like they did with TSL? it is possible they will do something or leave something out.

Yeah, how about making TSL a story extension to Kotor, just like the mission packs you got with the first Quake game, and actually produce a Kotor 2 that most Kotor fans were expecting in the first place; I still am, if they ever produce any more Kotor games.

I agree with pretty much everything people have already mentioned. But I have a few other ideas.
Kotor1: More benefits from using other characters, aside from story points. I mean, you can basically cruise through the game with Bastila/Jolee and Juhani. And Mission calling Zalbaar "Big Z" all the time sounds kinda creepy.
Kotor2: Expand on the "healing" your Force powers plot. For example, travel to different places with Force strong areas (like the cave Luke went into on Dagobah) or visiting alternate Force using groups, such as the Baran-Do Sages or the Witches on Dathomir. Also, more tie-ins with Kotor1. You get T3-M4 and HK-47, and you see that Carth is still kicking, but what happened to Juhani and Jolee and Mission and Zalbaar and, heck, what is Revan doing while the Jedi are being hunted down by Sith Lords? You'd think he'd go "That's not right, yo" and start kicking Sith butt again.
Both: More to do with the naturally dark side characters, like Canderous and HK-47. There's really no point in doing anything with them except for Hanharr in Kotor2, but that's minimal at best. HK-47 hints at content that was cut when he mentions finding the HK-50 factory so I guess there WAS more to those characters. I'd really like to know why Obsidian absolutely HAD to rush the game out and why Bioware even handed off one of their best games for someone else to basically ruin. There was at least one game that I remember was delayed for several years, up to the point that rumor was that the game was dropped, but it finally came out and it was great. Ok, rant over. I would have liked to see different Force powers, maybe even countering powers. Personally, I liked Force Absorb and Force Destruction from the original Jedi Knight and the Mysteries of the Sith expansion. And by countering powers, I mean like what Yoda did in Attack of the Clones when he caught Dooku's lightning and threw it back at him.

Hehe this is so wrong on so many levels.
1. Bioware and Obsidian are guys from the same company.
2. K2 isnt a fail
3. Bioware was sick of doing games with a rigid system they werent allowed to change. They got rid of that. Result: Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Jade Empire >>>>> Kotor.

I agree with you about the increased benefits of non jedi characters.
Never thought anything of Mission's nickname for Zaalbar. Guess I never thought about it all that much?
Though I was a bit of WTF that the soldier class didn't get combat specialist feats and almost all the other classes did in TSL.

Yeah, I agree here though maybe have different ideas how one could go about implementation of this into the story.

Not sure I necessarily agree here. I'm afraid Juhani and Jolee met their fate against Nihilus. Not sure what happened with Mission and Zaalbar, however Freyyer's double war blade is to be found in-game, and also a rare item you can uncover is in the game Called Vao's band. In the item description it has inscribed on it "For M. Vao --Z" so you have some very minor references at least. I would guess, Mission's skill and service history would get her some kind of favor with the Republic as perhaps an agent or something. Zaalbar, probably either her sidekick or went home to Kashyyk to his father and their wookiee tribe.
Revan? He was so far away he probably wouldn't have gotten the news, and even if he did, it probably would still have been secondary to what he was facing beyond the outer rim. (Or worse, he may have been a tool for the Sith the entire time). He had isolated himself away. Sure the Ebon Hawk may have been sent on its way and seen battle when The Jedi Exile came along but nobody knows what happened to Revan, that's the point. Revan being stranded one way or another or realizing there was no return might have sent the EH away or he could have gotten the news and decided the current threat was worse and needed to be pursued.

Who knows? Maybe Revan remembered The Exile on his way to the outer regions and saw a connection to the sith lords to take Malak's place, and that only she, the Exile could fight them...

Ok, for the umpteenth time: IT WAS LUCASARTS' DECISION to rush out the game in time for the 2004 christmas season and to bolster income for the May 2005 release of ROTS. It had little to do with Obsidian: they were given 12 months to develop TSL where Bioware had 36 months--that's not conjecture or excuse, the time-lines for their releases even line up as evidence for it. Bioware had 3 years and released it in '03, TSL was released about 1 year later. There was going to be work on a K3, but that got canceled.

Kotor I - More then 20 Level Ups!
Reason: Only recently did I choose to hold off on level ups in the beginning of the game so I can get more force powers. I use to go 8 or 9 level ups, now I wait until 3 or 4.
There are tons of awesome feats and powers and I get like barely half. Also, by the time I need those certain powers and feats at their strongest its too late. And I always run out of level ups by the time I reach the Unknown Regions.
Kotor II - More Lightsabers!(like in kotor 1!)
Reason: I love the new ability to convert your team mates into Jedi/Sith. So, why not have plenty of lightsabers to go with them. I can't remember before, but I'm currently playing and only have found 3, plus the one I built. I've got Kreia, Visas, Mical and Atton with the ability to use the force and a lightsaber, don't have enough. And all that I've collected are double blades, so, everyone fights and looks the same, kind of boring.
I know you said change 1 thing, but like some of you above, it would of been nice if they had a few more worlds to travel to. It can take time to convert your team mates and by the time you are powerful enough you're near the end. Also, I know in the first game you have 4 worlds to find the star maps, but that didn't mean only 4 planets in the second game.
When I first played and saw, I believe that was old Coruscant, I was hoping to go there and see whatever destruction the place had. And Korriban feels kind of like a rip off since there aren't many side-quests and its very fast. I wasn't too fond of returning to Dantooine. There are hundreds of worlds listed for the Star Wars universe. They should of picked some new worlds.
"I've got a bad feeling about this!"

Mh, some interesting things here.
KOTOR: Well nearly perfect. But more level ups. would be fine.
TSL: The very much things from the cut content! Yeah also more planets. A on both games.
And I add TOR to the list: Donīt make it an online RPG!
