Update: Things have slowed a little during the summer months with other things taking up my modding time. Kind of hit a slump on some dialog which is also adding to the slowdown. Hate writing dialogs Also, I've decided to expand Herrco's last challenge area. Going to reskin an additional area which should be pretty cool when finished. All this means completion will not be as soon as I expected. Sorry

Hey all, getting back into the modding stuff now that summer is coming to an end. Had something banging around in my head so I decided to tackle it before restarting my story mods.
It was inspired by the return of Canderis to our modding community. ( I knew he would be back ). He was looking for area mods to do and I suggested Mos Eisley for K2. Well, not really sure where he and SS are going with their, ahem, project.....I decided to do it myself.
So, here are some ruff pics. REALLY ruff. Buildings have not been textured yet. Just doing the layout.
I plan to release this as a MODDING RESOURCE for other modders to use, hopefully. It will just be the area itself. It will be up to others to fill it with all the goodies.
Here are some pics
Once this is done, I will return to The Trials of DArth Herrco, then hopefully ONderon Expansion,.
Y'all come back now, y'hear....................

Looking pretty good Newbiemodder. Is there any chance the Mos Eisley models could work in KotOR 1? Or would that require so much work it wouldn't be worth it?

Might I suggest a larger landing area for the Ebon hawk than the one seen in KotOR1?

As of 28APR13: I released a new small texture mod! Check it out here.

Very nice! I'm curious as to where you are going to get the textures from.

Sure, I can run the model thru Kaurora for a K1 version. No problemo.

It's been a while since I played K1 so the memory is a little foggy. I am basing my docking bays on Ep4 NH Falcon escape as well as images collected from google. They seem kind of small and compact.

I was just going to port them......just kidding. I will do my best to find something similar to K1 pics. I know there is a nice sand ground texture on K2 Korriban. I hope to match the blue sky as close as possible and find a similar sand/stone texture for the buildings. The nice thing about Tatooine is that most of the buildings are similar in color and texture. Not a whole lot of variation. K1 textures will provide a good base for comparison.

Fantastic! Still trying to get K2 to work on Windows 7. D; Let's have a contest shall we? Who finishes first: me getting KotOR II to work on W7 or you finishing this mod? IMO, it's pretty clear you're going to win. x.x I'll be missing out on one hell of a mod. Keep up the excellent work.

Mos Eisley?
hmpm... that "sand" looks a little too ... clean, even for Mos Eisley?? however, I don't know how to avoid "symmetrical" patterns being too evident in that sand of yours if editing few lines or effects here and there ...

Hey newbie, in case you're having trouble finding textures for Tatooine, cgtextures.com is always a really nice resource. I think you have to register, but after you do all of the textures are free for download (larger textures are paid). Even though your last update was a while ago it looks really nice!

Ok....been a while. I haven't done any modding since before Thanksgiving. However, a few of recent inquiries by some people coupled with the news from LucasArts has kind of fanned the flames of modding....although very slightly....within newbiemodder.
Here's a cutscene from Onderon Expansion: Return of Yuthura Ban.
I had planned to stick this somewhere during Telos exploration to build awareness of the pending mod.
Nothing fancy.
Thanks to HK-42 for use of Coruscant loadscreens.
There is a second cutscene that I will put up in the coming days....just working on the voice files.
RE: Trials of Darth Herrco
What I may do is put out a short Demo or Beta....which will take you through one of the trials and see if you all like it so far. It would be open to whomever wants to play it. It won't include the TSL patcher but instructions to manually install the files, similar to what Logan did with his mod. Stay tuned..........
Like I said, trying to build some excitement and momentum.......we'll see.

Hey NM the onderon expansion is that going to be compatible with DI's Tomb of Azguth N'Dul? If you would like a tslpatcher version of the Trials mod I could throw it together for you

Nice cutscene! Maybe put the "Kreia-is-communicating-to-you-telepathically" sort of silver halo around the Uthar Wynn shots to make it clear it's a flashback/memory?
Excited!
Thank you Gorgod.

@ kyrie - should be no conflict with either Onderon Expansion or Trials of Darth Herrco with DI's Tomb mod. However, I don't think it is compatible with the original Korriban expansion. I created a whole new 701KOR.mod file for that mod so I could make the transition trigger to the valley floor. I'm assuming DI probably did the same thing. Those two .git files would have to be combined....again I'm assuming that DI did it the same way I did to include his tomb entrance placeable.
@Zhaboka - That force vision effect is included. My graphics card doesn't show it on my computer. But I did include it in the dialog tree so, yes, that should show for all those with better computers than me
I uploaded a demo for the Trials of Darth Herrco at Deadly Stream. There is a thread here at TUCE for more info.

Actually, I spawned in the tomb entrance using Kreia's initial speech about the tombs, so there shouldn't be any incompatibility there.
