I'm guessing they're using the same engine/assets to start off with and then building the game from there. If it fits in with the same style and then it'll at least turn out to be a decent game. The question I want to know is whether the voice cast, such as Kevin Conroy, will return...
Please let it be at least partially based on The Killing Joke. We need Mark Hamill.
I already knew about Rocksteady not developing, and it still worries me a bit. So long as the rumor of it being based in the Silver Age of Batman doesn't become fact, I won't worry too much.

I haven't played Arkham City yet (due to DRM and a broken DX11 mode). But I loved Arkham Asylum, which is probably my favourite game of this generation. It's too bad that Rocksteady won't be making it, but if WB keeps the high standard and learn from the mistakes made in City, I think we'll have a great game.

Never a good sign when you have a "PRE-ORDER NOW" that's bigger than the game title.
If they didn't do that they might miss out on the opportunity to cash in on the success of the prior games before people realise this is made by a different developer. Where would publishers be if their games had to rely solely on their individual merits instead of hype and PR BS?

Just finished City. I wasn't really caught up with Asylum, but I loved City.
I'm excited to hear news of a next game in the series, but, like has been expressed by others in this thread, I'm apprehensive about Rocksteady not being the developer.

I kinda figured Deadshot would appear. "World's 8 deadliest assassins." Didn't Alfred call Deadshot the world's greatest assassin in City?
I also figured Joker, Scarecrow, and Killer Croc would likely appear.
I honestly have no desire to see a Joker that is not voiced by Mark Hamill. There's just no way that anyone can stand up to that guy in terms of believability.
While I do agree Hamill is the best non-live-action Joker, I think John DiMaggio did a fairly good job as him in Under the Red Hood, and Richard Epcar as well in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Absolutely. I just don't think that I would ever be able to play an Arkham game and not compare it to Hamill which would totally take me out of the experience.
I'd like to see Mark Hamill return for The Joker... but I'm also know he's gotten sick of playing the role and doesn't really find all the much satisfaction in it any more. Maybe if they pay him a truckload of money more than they usually pay him...
I too would love for Mark Hamill to do it again as well, but if they can't get him, there's got to be a fan out there somewhere who can do a great Joker voice and at least sound close to what Hamill does. The genius of Hamill has no bounds though, the guy can literally do any voice he wants
