Yeah I still love the micro series, but TCW came a long way from where it started, both in stories and in animation.

Its been a hard five years for me as a Star Wars fan, I've been continually biting my tongue, as LF made more and more decisions that were pushing me away from my favorite thing.
I'm happy that the Clone Wars was Important and interesting for some fans, in the second Dark times era, I really am. Some of the testimonials from people since the announcement of its demise are akin to someone losing a parent or finding religion... its beyond me to be honest, but its a testament to the shows quality.
But I'm so excited about the future possibilities for Star Wars now.
Cinematic releases, Check.
Me excited about Star Wars again, Check.
New Animated series, Check, possibly more photo-realistic and adult orientated, Hopefully. Set in an unseen era, check (The Clone Wars era is the most overused era in history)
A re-thinking of how the continuity and canon is treated, fingers-crossed.
A re-launch of Starwars.com with the forums, blogs, EU-encyclopedia reinstated? Please!?
Live action films, The Expanded Universe, and fan interaction... Not much to ask for, but to me, that's all that counts.
Good times, Bad times, we all have em, Just glad its my time for some Good ones again

It's a long and silly story. It all happened a good four years ago, I think. In short, TCW introduced a faction of Mandalorians that didn't line up with hers (which more so fits with how they were before KotOR, not during the Clone Wars and post-Endor), so she pitched a fit like a toddler deprived of a Yoo-hoo and dropped everything she was doing Star Wars related. She's moved on to tarnish Gears of War with novels and writing the 3rd game, and Halo with books and short stories. Her departure has been quite the blessing.

Palpatine clearly said he has use for him, it was a pretty obvious line. He'll probably end up going back to crazy town.

Ah, so you hated the show so much that you were sitting there hoping that it ended as soon as possible even though - as you can see - plenty of people really enjoyed it. Makes sense...

I didn't hate it, but I'm glad its done. I never liked the path it took Star Wars down, now is its chance to rebuild a fan-base that includes me. selfish yes, but that's kinda the point, I pay hundreds a year in games, merchandise and general interest, makes sense to me that it be stuff I actually enjoy.

lol I don't get this attitude AT ALL. If you dislike the Clone Wars, the prequels, or any other "spin-off" or anything other than the original trilogy, it's simple - just don't pay attention to it!
If you're so selfish about it, why do you care if the fan base is rebuilt? Besides, I think you can see that a large portion of the fan base (including many veteran, hardcore fans) are sad to see the Clone Wars go out like this.
You can like whatever you want, but it's just such a weird attitude to take about something people obviously get a lot of joy from.

I love everything but the clone wars... Both trilogies, the gendy T cw series, all the books, comics and games, LOVE IT ALL. its just a shame the only thing i didn't like had such franchise effecting clout. but that's not your problem if you like it

I personally never watched the series, but I did watch the film. If it was easy to follow in the UK, I would probably watch it, but I believe we just get incoherent reruns of episodes.

The film was unquestionably terrible, as were most of the first couple seasons. Season 4 was when it started getting consistently good. However, there were some good episodes in the 1st and 2nd seasons, primarily "rookies"

"unquestionably" is a questionable term. I personally found the first two seasons to be very good (they had the most variety, and were my favourite overall), while the movie was an okay intro to the series.

The best episodes are the ones telling the stories of the clone troopers. They're not cannon fodder anymore! Maul hasn't kicked in on paradise island, so I can't tell.

That explains alot. I watched the entire first season and a little bit of the second before I lost interest. It felt like they used the same plotlines over again. I would expect a show to get its act together by at least the third season, though.

The third season was boring, it was focused mostly on Padme and corruption in the senate, and stuff. Repetitive, and terrible.

I think that was season 4 if I am not mistaken, the whole dathomir plot took place there unless it took place at the end of 3. Either way, I liked most of how that was done.

Yeah, I don't think the movie belonged in movie theaters, but it would've been a solid "special" on TV. As you said, a good introduction.
