In like a week, it'll have been 14 years since I registered here. That just seems...unreasonable.

Indeed. I require a time augmentation device. Whoever is most qualified here to invent that, get on it.

WTF?

I know we need post counts... but not at the expense of being spammed.

Oh, Wildstar... cleanup in aisle 5.

I remember when the merge happened and I had the highest post count by an enormous margin.

Made me rethink some things.

Yeah... A page long post about great discounts for designer handbags or something by a first-time poster. Like 30 long paragraphs of gibberish.

I still feel crummy. My sinuses are aching from being full, then empty... and all the nose blowing I've been doing. And my sides hurt from coughing. It's been a lousy month so far... with my back going out... then this. Getting old sucks. Don't do it.

And I still don't have my car. They found additional damage underneath once the bumper was off they had to address.

I didn't feel that great yesterday either. Very tired. I went to bed at like 10:00 PM and woke up late at almost 9:00 AM. Seemed to help a little, though.

WOrked til 1am THis morning... like the previous 3 mornings. Now have to come in from 1030am til 9pm. 9.5 hours from both clocking in. Obviously we humans just go home and immediately fall asleep. They also want me to work 6 hours on Friday, which is usually my day off (along with Saturday)

Tired of having to be punished for my Managers lack of foresight of hiring people for our busiest time.

of course. Thankfully that is still part of the labor laws in my state. But it is seriously screwing up my summer enjoyment

That sounds like my every day schedule. I've honestly haven't even noticed it's summer yet. And when I have had a day off, I've been too busy or felt too awful (or both...) to actually enjoy it at all.

My summer at work is about to get a whole lot busier... The woman who works as the other engineer with me is having her 3rd baby in a couple of weeks. Her husband also works as a manager in our department. She's out for at least 3 months starting next week, and he follows her for a month or so as soon as she gives birth.

The rest of us in the department will just have to make up the slack... except of course, for the couple of folks who pre-planned and scheduled their 2+ weeks vacations in July.

Which means for the busiest couple of summer work weeks at the end of July, our 8 manager department which would have been totally overworked even staffed at full strength during those couple of weeks, will have to make due less than half that number.

Guess who is one of the lucky ones left to take up the slack? And we are all on salary. No OT for us. Just a vague promise that we can take additional time off when it's not busy.

Figured it out, from 3pm Wednesday, to 3pm Friday, i would get 15.5 hours off to go home, sleep and get ready to go to work again.. twice.

Told my workplace to stuff it.

They also want us to work 3 more fridays in the months of July and August.

Not really. Feeling a bit better... but buried in work. Had John McLaughlin (of the Mahavishnu Orchestra) at work the other day. Then the top selling pop star diva out of Brazil. Both were kinda long days...

Still no car yet... but all this driving has made mom's car feel 1000 times better than the first day I drove it.

Put all my AC units in yesterday. At least now I can sleep at night, and not swelter all day... but the constant drone of machinery is annoying in it's own way.

I have a birthday this week. Looks like I'll be spending it at work on another long, pain in the butt show. Perfect.

As per usual, I'm not exactly looking forward to another b-day... but: I've been having a truly crappy month. And year, if I'm honest...
I'm hoping the birthday is kind of a karmic pivot point for me... that things afterwards will start to look up again.

Paula Cole at work tonight (again...)

Apparently, she still don't wanna wait... but hasn't located those pesky missing cowboys yet.

And she sang one of the most X-Rated songs I think I've ever heard outside a Lil' Kim album. The average audience age was 15 or 16. I think a couple of the parents here with their kids were a bit scandalized.

The 27th. I'm now 43. Yay.

Spent the entire day at work with a couple hundred very picky string players.
It was quite the party. Same group tonight too...

I have the weekend off. I'll have to do all my celebrating then.

I thought you got me on teh Bookface?

I dunno... this is the very first time I've ever made my B-Day public there. I got several dozen Happy Birthday wishes. I lost track of who hit me and who didn't.

The weekend was OK. Not great. I ended up having to go into work on Sunday unexpectedly, and that threw what few plans I had out of whack. There's a married couple who work in my department and they kinda had a baby Saturday night or something. Needed someone to cover shifts...

I'll try to make up for it this week. Holiday! Whoo!

I'm working all next weekend too. And probably the one after that... and the one after that... and the one...

You got me on the bookface earlier. THank you.

I got clothes for my birthday. That's... well. I guess I'm old now. I got excited because I have new jeans. >.<

Yeah... I went out and splurged after my b-day and bought myself... shoes and socks.

Granted... they were new exercise gear I was desperately needing. Gotta get back in some semblance of shape this summer... other than "blobby" that is.

Well, came across the Star Wars Holiday Special on youtube...which reminded me of this place. Can't remember for the life of me when was the last time I posted here.

Anyways. Interesting stuff happening over the past few years? Graduated, got a job, managed to keep it. Became a father. That's a pretty big deal. Didn't buy SW on bluray yet though, DVD will have to suffice for our young padawan

Off to read how you guys have been doing

It was a grilled cheese. Swiss and provolone, I believe it was. With spinach on it. It was on some kind of multi-grain bread, I think. A+++ would eat again.
