The show improved a lot from those early days, both in story and production values.

I enjoyed TCW overall, but the quality (at least in terms of my enjoyment) varied wildly. Clone focused shows tended to be very good, where some others were outright cringe worthy.

I guess I would put my feelings like this...

Pros:
- A heroic and capable Anakin without overt whininess
- Real Kenobi and Anakin teamwork and friendship
- Some great battle scenes, lightsaber fights in particular
- A few great new characters. I like Hondo a lot, voiced by the wonderful Jim Cummings aka Minsc from BG

Cons:
- Some unnecessary and weird canon trampling
- Ashoka (more so the problems her existence introduces. I hated her personality less as time went on)
- Some terrible politics stories. Padme's character suffers for this.
- Silly battle droids

No, it wasn't. There were 5 episodes with Padmé on a season with 22 episodes. Season 3 had various great arcs: Kamino, Nightsisters, Mortis, Citadel, and Trandoshan. Not to mention the various episodes that complete previous arcs.

I agree. By putting it in theaters, people expected Pixar-like quality and budget, and unfortunately the movie was judge as such. Still, it made a good amount of money which supposedly helped make the series what it is (was) today.

That whole Gascon storyline was a low point for the series.

I'm glad that TCW didn't end with it.

I enjoyed TCW, it really grew into a great show after not caring too much for its first season. I kinda wish it was getting one final season. But hopefully we get those last two story arcs.

The microseries is great too! Sometimes I think I'm the only one who likes the microseries.

Durge, Ventress, Dooku, and the terrifying Grievous really give the CIS a awesome image.

I loved the microseries. It was so well done and didn't get all convoluted. It was clear, simple, and told some great stories of the clone wars in a way that didn't make you roll your eyes the way the cg clone wars series did.

I really liked TCW too, but seeing as it had a good run, I think it might be best if it stopped there.... Did anyone else get the feeling that they were trying to lower the target age? I mean, here in the UK, the feature film went straight to McDonald's models. Obviously, it was a fantastic series, and I'm really glad it happened, but I feel that if it got carried on too much, that would affect episodes 7,8,9 and make them 'tamer', not to mention the route Star Wars games would take... Kotor ii for example, would be a bit of a heavy game for a kid who gets happy meals.. What you guys think?

The clip above on USA Today is from that arc. Tom Kane also mentioned on some podcast that a Yoda arc involving the concept of Force ghosts was being finished as well.

I'm still baffled as to why Anakin gets an apprentice. Why have him train someone, then deny him the rank of master in Revenge of the Sith?

Please stop using "I have a bad feeling about this." It's Han Solo's line; he'd like it back.

The obvious answer would be retconning. As for an in-universe answer, no idea.

A Jedi only becomes a Master after successfully training a padawan to knighthood. Since she left the Order before finishing her training, I don't see where exactly is the problem.

The microseries really is amazingly done, I prefer it TCW even though I enjoy both. The microseries really made the Clone Wars seem that much more epic, consistent quality. While TCW was very up and down.

Well, it appears The Clone Wars (finally) won the Emmy for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program (David Tennant also, surprisingly, won an Emmy for voicing Huyang):

I'm extremely disappointed it had to end like this. Of course I knew it had to end someday, but I was frustrated when I found out they were going to cancel the show just before season 6.
In my opinion, they should have aired season 6, then stop.
And the ending was rather unclear, to me at least. What happened to Maul? What happened to Ahsoka? What happened to Rex and Fives? What happened to Hondo Ohnaka, to Cad Bane, to Embo, to Bo-Katan Kryze? I guess we'll never find out...

I for one hope we get some news on the release of Season 5 on bluray/dvd. I bought all the others on dvd and am hoping they do a bluray boxset of all of them, so I can get them on bluray now.
