So, apparently my gf's mom may have some sort of cancer.

I... have no idea what to do.

That's rough dude. Just be supportive and listen a lot, and take up whatever slack you can while the gf is spending time at hospital or with her mom.

Getting close to 7-grand back in taxes. Sweet. My mom doesn't earn enough to file anymore, so that makes me head-of-household, with all the big deductions that comes with it.

And I know what y'all mean about communication breakdowns... the last woman that caught my attention is apparently unreachable. I've called, went to voicemail, no call back. I've also texted, emailed and Facebook messaged, with no replies. We clicked in person last time I saw her... but setting up another meeting has proven impossible, so I've given up on that front. I guess I have to wait for her to choose to get in touch with me again, and who knows when that might be. And she always seems to try and schedule something on a day and time when I'm at work...

My patience with being patient has run out.

cracken: just be supportive. suggest she spend as much time with her mom as she can. idk

so i went down to the mall because i now can play some blu rays, i bought The entire Xmen Collection and The Immortals for $28.

my friend bailed out on a party that we had planned on going tomorrow, and of course i can't make it without a ride...needless to say i'm really pissed off about it, because when HIS car broke down when he wasn't working, who drove him around everywhere ALL THE TIME without being a little pussy bitch about it? this guy. ****, i never even asked for gas money (and he never donated). though i guess he has some bitch excuse, like he's gotta be back down to work at 0530 on monday. wah wah wah so much driving. give me a ****ing break, guy. i wouldn't be as pissed about it if he had just told me NO he wasnt wanting to go to this all you can eat and drink buffet that my friend invited us to (i asked him and he said 'yeah i wanna go') because my friend bought us tickets for it, expecting that we'd be there. i'm just so angry because that kind of reflects on me, but my friendship kinda is taking a dive with this guy, like plane crashing in the middle of the ocean. he's indecisive, he never follows through on ****, when i used to pick him up to go out, i'd call and let him know an hour in advance i'd get there and he'd still be getting ready. he procrastinates, he acts jealous at me because i dont have to work anymore, he gets mad that i don't have a car. also he still lives with his parents and is almost 30. (ed, no offense to you your situation is totally different) He had the opportunity to be roomates with me, and wouldn't have to drive a 60 mile round trip to and from work each day (i live 3 miles from where he works), he's pretty ****ing stupid and it really pisses me off. /end of rant

anyways i also stopped at rite aid today, and got buncha **** for my ankles/heel pain, i got dr scholl's orthopedic inserts, popped them in my shoes before the 2 mile walk home and there was a huuuuuuuuuge difference. no pain at all!!!! only thing i can see being a side effect however, is when i go running, the back of my ankle rubbing against the back of my shoe...uncomfortable but alot more comfortable than trying not to walk like a zombie!

i'm grateful for the 2 cashiers that helped me out getting me deals, the rite aid guy swiped his card to get me $9 off of my inserts, and the FYE guy found a better deal for me on the xmen collection. so overall today was a good day, besides my good friend pissing in my bowl of cheerios!

Yeah, I've got my pipe organ lessons going, and the rest of my music stuff, playing and writing. I've got running. I just went skiing for the first time, and I'd like to do more of that, though it may have to wait until the weather gets cold again.

Amazing? Well, I work on a major software product that owns a couple of major markets. I've done some good travelling. I played violin with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. I did some consulting on a major motion picture. My Beethoven forum is one of the oldest and most popular classical music communities on the Internet. I don't know if any of that is amazing, but it's what I love.

Sorry, man. I just went through that with my mom. Lung cancer. Luckily they caught it early and she's doing OK now.

Cracken, I'm sorry to hear that. You'll know what to do when your other half needs you. If she finds herself caring for her mom at home, there will be a lot for you to do.

Dating? I've been single for fourteen years, not counting *encounters* and the female I almost got hooked up with a few years ago. Waste of time, if you ask me. I've decided to get back into that only if some totally hot, smart and rich babe falls in love with me and has to have some rabbit...on my terms. Chicks of this type form a line here:

*(Crickets chirp. Slowly.)*

Meanwhile, I had a great day sword collecting yesterday. I found a Knights of Pythias lion-head sword, a rare fraternal sword from around 1900, in a local antique mall for $125. This isn't mine, but this is what one looks like:

One sold on line recently for $625. I can't gamble worth a damn, but if you want the best value for your sword-collecting money...send me in.

That's a pretty good return on investment Zoomie!

You gonna sell it at all so you can buy more swords, or just get it cleaned up an add it to the aresenal?

just ran dry on preworkout GNC's AMP Loaded N.O. V2....

gonna go pick up a tub or 2 of GAT after my workout today.

nothing that exciting going on today...took my dog out for a short walk, waiting for laundry to dry so i can get headed to the gym. it's cold out again. another plus about these dr scholl's inserts is i can throw them in my old pair of shoes, practically making them like new. after i hit up the gym, going to slurp a protein shake then going to walk 2 miles to GNC at the mall and pick up the GAT, not sure what i'll have for supper...thinking of grilling some chicken..

Another crap day at work...

This time there was no real reason for it. It just seemed like nobody from the band or the promoter cared the slightest bit about actually opening the doors on time, or starting the show an hour later than they agreed to on the contract.

It was an Indian Bollywood show. We were told it was a cultural thing to start late.

The angry audience didn't seem to get that memo...

My weapons collection is my own idiotic form of retirement savings. It will get sold about thirty years from now, at (I hope) substantial profit. Antiques go up in value, unlike new things which depreciate for decades before they become collectible. For example, a japanese WW2 bayonet was worth $20 when I started collecting in the 1980's...and now they cost about $100 in the same condition. In the future, who knows?

Here is my living room display, all antique military and fraternal swords (the new lion-head sword is the third from the left.) The japanese swords on the stand are all modern, and are just there as decoys for a stupid burgular...

Nice letter openers.

Anybody here know how for repair the ballast on a Lycian Super Arc spotlight?

I tapped it with a hammer a couple of times. Sprayed it with WD-40. Yelled obscenities at it for a good 20 minutes. Now I'm all out of ideas.

Today at work was far less "Bolly" than yesterday. That is not a bad thing...

Supposedly more snow here tomorrow and Wednesday. Blizzard conditions in some places, but probably not accumulating to an amount worthy of shutting anything down round here... but probably amounting to a total that makes walking and driving just miserable enough to want to punch a weather person in the soft and squishy bits.

started taking the creatine-free preworkout, it's just not the same. but i'm gonna keep taking it anyway and see if i notice any difference once it's used up. haven't been drinking or craving a drink like i was before i started working out. (st patricks parade day doesnt count lol)

sick and tired of the cold weather. though at the same time i'm not looking forward to the humidity, and i'll need to get an AC unit hooked up in my room. humidity sucks.

I'm enjoying the last pieces of winter. A nice brisk run this morning, maybe a little snow tomorrow. Screw spring and especially summer. Summer has been useless since I stopped getting summer vacations from school.

just spent half an hour setting up a schedule to go to the gym that has the weights (the one i used to go to at 2 in the morning), im sure getting there won't be an issue, the issue gonna be when i'm trying to get back, WILL THE BUS STOP FOR ME? i'll find out tomorrow! if the gym isn't busy during the early afternoon, i'll definitely be making it a routine to get there twice a week in addition to the workout i'm doing down at planet fitness. one thing i found that i like at pf is the stationary sit-up platform, which i'm using to help me get a good score on the sit-up portion of the apft.

there was snow on the ground today.

I was sad.

Sad that I live in this hell hole called the north east.

I. Hate. Winter.

an army buddy of mine told me of this gym that is half a mile from where i go to school...so yeah screw the bus system. gonna go check this place out tomorrow, probably get a basic membership since all i want is to lift weights there.

wow my expectations of the place were blown away. also, gym membership is only $30/month with classes included. sweet. though i still have my planet fitness and anytime fitness memberships...pf is nice because it's 24/hours, anytime is nice because it is 24/hours+has alot of weight lifting equipment, however isn't worth it since i don't have a way to get there other than walking 7.5 miles one way unless i take the bus, but that would be pointless considering the other gym is much closer (2.5 miles, bus can take me there). now i can get my lift on. planet fitness is nice cause it's only 1 mile away, and the bus doesn't come here on the weekends and i can imagine that new gym im going to would be pretty full on weekends considering it has alot of weight machines, so i'll just do cardio on those days at planet fitness.

Work was blah. Not my best mix ever... but it did the job.

I think a cute girl was kinda flirting with me on the train platform... But it took me by such surprise I that spent a few minutes thinking "Wait... she isn't... is she?" while she got on a train and left.

I'm so very very slick.

Still... if she was, that's the most reaction I've gotten from a female of the species in almost 2 years.

But... kinda sucks knowing that there's a pretty good chance that I'll never ever see her again, and I might very well have blown a golden opportunity frozen with my bafflement when I couldn't understand why a girl kept looking at me and smiling.

Ed, too often they already have someone and just flirt to keep in practice and watch guys melt.

or at least say they have someone to make you cry and show how much power they have over us

But when you do get a chance to meet and have a date with a cute girl, it is such a confidence booster you start looking where you never thought you had a chance.

Spent a lot of time with girls looking at me like they just found me stuck to the bottom of their shoes

lol yesterday i had an interesting expeirence at the coffee shop by the bus stop...i was in line waiting for a gyro/coffee and this chick cuts in front of me asking for more sugar in her coffee, the guy is like 'i put like 12 in it, that's not enough?' i lmao at her, then waited for my gyro, once i got my food i was gonna sit down, but no seats so i just said 'guess i'll be eating outside today!' and she offered a seat at her table, so i was like 'yolo!' and sat down, asked her how her coffee was, still bad. lol then she got on the phone and was talking to her friend about court, and that she's gonna test hot and is going to jail in 2 weeks anyway....sooo that was interesting, but she was nice to me! i can only attract the crazies!!!!!

anyway, got up at 530 this morning thanks to my dog for waking me up 15 minutes before my alarm, to my benefit though...got all ready for the gym, it's windy as **** out (20-25mph winds), but no sand mixed in, so it's not THAT BAD. made it to the gym, got a good chest workout in followed by 10 minutes on the precor elliptical, got a water and walked 2 miles back home.

now the day can begin! preworkout i'm taking sucks, hopefully GAT is better, if not i'm moving back to the stuff with the creatine.

Well, yeah... I have spent on average about 2 hours a day, 5 or 6 days a week, since 1993 riding the subway... and on any given trip I see about a dozen attractive women, and the amount of flirtation episodes that have happened in all that time could be cataloged with the fingers of one hand, with several left over. So it's not a common occurrence for me. When it has happened, I enjoyed it, but never gave it a lot of thought. Except the times when it was a guy flirting with me... Then my thought was: "Errr.... What?"
But normally, when someone notices me at all, it's the "unpleasant matter on the bottom of a brand new pair of very expensive shoes" look I get too.

But yesterday she walked past me originally, and I glanced up from my phone, and for a second I thought I recognized her as someone I used to work with, so we made eye contact. After a second or two I realized she wasn't and she went past, down the platform. Then she walked past me again, going back the other way, close enough to brush against me. She stopped just in front of me for a moment, then looked back at me over her shoulder with a little half smile.

She moved around the platform for a minute or two, making sure that she was somewhere I could see her, and occasionally looking back at me. It was at that moment it started to dawn on me that she was really trying to get my attention. It was also at that moment that a train pulled in... but it wasn't my train, but apparently hers.

End of that story.

Do people really meet that way anyway? Random strangers in public? That seems unlikely to me.

Well, it works that way in the movies and on TV... But so far I've never had that "eyes meeting across a crowded room" moment in real life, though I've heard of other people managing to turn that into a thing.

Every time I think about it happening on the train though, I think of the Seinfeld episode where that happens to George, and it ends up with him tied to the bed in a hotel room while she steals all his stuff, and it kills the dream immediately.

heh, how else can people meet...im sure this one girl in my class is flirting with me, idk what to think of it, i'm done even trying they gotta just start showing more flirtation towards me #1 i don't want kids, so that's a deal-breaker for 90% of the girls i like. i could wait forever for this one girl i'm kind of friendzoned with, she doesn't want kids, but she wants a millionaire, justin timberlake fangirl type. so probably wouldn't work with her. i'm just gonna fill up my time at the gym instead of facebook/dating websites that get me nowhere with girls. maybe i'll meet a nice girl at the gym, who knows...i go to 2 gyms so my chances of that happening are increased, right? lol

worst part about 2 a day workouts is having to do laundry more often than i'd like. oh well!

I'm not sure what I could have said to break the ice anyway... Without sounding desperate, awkward, or totally creepy, or most likely, some unholy combo of all 3.

"So I notice you're waiting for a train... Me too!"
"Ride this line often?"
"Subways in Boston, huh? How about that?"

Yeah... It would have fallen apart the second I opened my mouth. Unless she was totally into Star Wars, guitar music, video games, all the geeky movies, books and shows I consume, or auto racing, I'm pretty sure the conversation would have died immediately after an opening line, even if I had one to use.

well, it's better to look like a dork than have second thoughts, even if saying something silly creates an awkward moment, it's not the end of the world. my opinion.

Battle is a pure form of expression. It is heart and discipline, reduced to movement and motion. In battle, the words are swept away, giving way to actions-- mercy, sacrifice, anger, fear. These are pure moments of expression.

Maybe... But this is the big city. Approach a woman the wrong way as a stranger, get pepper spray right in the eyes.

Anyway, that whole encounter took less than 3 minutes.

Maybe a far more extroverted guy than myself could have made the moves in that amount of time, but I'm not that guy.

Anyway, I ride the same train route everyday, at usually the same time. There are a number of familiar faces I see every week.

It's not impossible that our paths might cross again.

And if she really is single and looking around the area, I might see her online. Since she resembles someone I used to know, I'm pretty sure I could recognize her again.

Sure I guess... Though I'm not actively looking for her.

I still haven't joined any dating sites yet.

well good luck if you do...i get 3s and 4s on them but they don't even want to meet up for coffee, and drop me after a week worth of messages. i know a handful of girls that are single, but they just aren't interested in a guy like me. it's probably because i am a nice guy, well i can't just change something i was brought up as, nor will i. i try to show respect to everyone, maybe a little more to girls that i like. i wish i had a mature relationship with my sister, she'd probably be able to tell me what kind of girl i should go for. my parents aren't really any help at all when it comes to relationship advice, considering they never dated anybody else. so i kinda put some of the blame for me being single onto them. plus being homeschooled from 7-12 grade didn't help with social skills at all. (other than online stuff lol)

I don't exactly have high hopes... but I have to do SOMETHING to shake things up in my world somehow this year,... or else this rut I'm in will become far too deep to ever climb back out of, then I'll just have to resign myself to "waiting around to die" status.

I'm not ready for that yet.

only places i go to outside of the bar (which i'm pretty much done with that crap) i can find to meet women are college (18-22, so i'm way older than them so that makes that part a no go) and the gym, and the times i go to gym are when kids are at school, so at least i know if there's cute women around they're generally within my age bracket, though i find it easier to talk to girls while they are doing a job, such as the check-in girls at the gyms i go to, or girls i see that are working at stores. i think once my muscles get larger and i don't look "fat"-especially on my face, i'll have much better luck. also need to stop hanging out with people that make me annoyed, or at least spend less time with them, make them beg me to go out cause i'm done trying to talk them into doing anything fun with me when they just **** all over my plans of fun.

Bar flies

Zoom Rabbit's tips for sexcess:

1. Tastefully applied cologne. Something that says, 'I'm on my way to the office,' not 'desperate to dance.'

2. Show money. Twenties are okay, but only if you're leaving a tip.

3. Be mysterious. Don't volunteer too much information; make them get it out of you.

4. Dress casual, but with a nice jacket. Or a nice hat. Wearing a nice hat to a party will definitely get you laid.

AND FINALLY, after you have lured in the target with these tactics...

5. Tell her she reminds you of your ex-girlfriend, but give her your phone number. Be snarky and make fun of her, but throw in some half-assed flirting. If she's a keeper, she will call you the next day.

I'm such a pig. Only kidding, though.

zoom rabbit.

I feel like I fell through a portal to 15 years ago. There's so many things I have to warn myself about. Particularly the outcome of sporting events.

trying to add music onto my iphone...spotify is a data hog apparently.

anyway it's go time at the gym, arms! woop woop, 2 miles walk there, 2 miles back...last time i weighed myself was about a month ago, so who knows if i'm even losing any weight, all i know is that i'm feeling better and not as depressed as i was before working out. though the preworkout mix i'm taking may have alot to do with that!

got a good workout in today, felt it, went to muscle fail on machine curls. finally found a scale there, and i got on it with clothes, shoes, hoodie, i weighed 210, so i weigh approximately 205, which is great because i weighed 215 a few weeks ago. hoping to be down to 170 by july. idk, maybe too much to ask from my body, but i think it's possible.
