Demo help

Can anyone tell me how to get the demo going? My son has been trying to get the demo game going. He get to the opening screen, jumps down facing the door that will not open. Tried looking everywhere, jumping in different places but we are unable to find the trick to get the game rolling. What is the trick we are missing?

The trick is to find some objects that will give way or move, to provide access to alternate exits.
