Please Help

Hello Everyone, this is my first time posting. I'm not very far in the game, and i"m already lost. I went in this chamber and had to kill a snake, and in theres a blue stone. But, when I pick up the stone my whole screen goes blue, and I'm stuck in a blue world. Is it supposed to be that way? I've had to totally restart my computer because i can't do anything. Thanks for the help.
