My screen doesn't hurt my eyes. Maybe you left an option unconfigured in your video card setup. Check your properties, it should be under your 3d card setup tabs.

The colors are a bit bright, but they dont hurt my eyes at all.

Maybe it's just the fact that I actually seen sun-light, and thus dont mind bright lights?

I like the colors. However. There is a little too much White Space up at the top. I dunno, it just seems like the banner should be bigger. It kinda sucks when the ad is almost the size of our banner. It should be bigger!

hmm. in my opinio its too bright. the posts bg is ok but the white border is too much.. it ~~should~~could be darker..

and i dont say it should be dark because i like 'dark' (like boohoo).. my EYES tell me to turn it a bit down with the brightness.. for people which are using a crt-monitor THIS may cause extra radiation exposure ..

..

and i prefer and dark bg with bright characters written on it, because it's less annoying to the eyes in not BRIGHT lightened rooms.

no dont make it 'overused'-dark make it friendly 'notsobright' ..

anyway i like the banner .. but its too dark for the white border ..

so this was my bright opinion..

I'm sure we'll be adjusting the colors since everyone has said they are too bright. Give us a few days to mess around wi this...I'm sure we won't stop until most everyone is happy

I don't know why everyone is complaining unless you have done something between this post and when people saw the forums. I happen to think they look nice and it is actually a little dim for me I had to turn up my brightness. I was just kidding about turning it up but seriously there is nothing wrong with mine.

When I was going in on jk series I didnt see the swamp my brain nearly exploded when I was thinking: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOO, THE SWAMP IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the design hurts my eyes, they burn agggggghhhhhhhhh

Like Acrylic said before, why should I adjust my gamma level. Its good enoguh for other palces without giving me headaches. And its the same with other people too. We are just requesting that you get rid of a little of the white. We are the people of the Swamp, we are the ones who come here, don't our opinions matter?

EDIT- Ya know, now that I think about it, the swamp doesnt look that bad once you get used to it...but, sad thing is, I adjusted my brightness from 100 down to 90, and my contrast from 100 down to 90.

But, the swamp, does look REALLY nice, EXCEPT, change the white to a white thats a little bit less brighter. Otherwise, I approve.

oh no, please people, DONT start a flame war over a simple color sceme. You shouldnt go to a forum because it looks cool, you go to it for it's content. I,too, dont like the color scheme, but i just brush it off, cause its one of those things that just doesnt matter.

It's not as simple as getting rid of the white. We want it to match the jk.net website, and that's white and blue. We administer the swamp and the rest of these forums. We provide a free service to you at no benefit to ourselves. We make all this possible, shouldn't you take our suggestions into account?

I'm reminded of something George Lucas said, about how he makes Star Wars films for himself rather than for others. I see why now...because you can't please everyone. Maybe I do, but I don't think I do. Like I said, this is the only forum like this, GB doesn't bopther me. But I don't think it has as much white. If you want me to stop giving my opinion, I will. By arguing, it doesn't seem like its getting any where.
