What's your favorite level?
My favorite level is when you escort the queen on Naboo. It had that cool flying droid thing that shot at battle droids.

That level was tough, I can get through it now in several minutes but I remember when I started....ugh.
Personally, my favorite whas Assault on Theed. Because it was like "Oh, I've been here before!" being escape played sorta backwards. Plus you were the one being escorted. Mos espa was good too, I had lots of fun trying to murder the town.

I've tried that before but usually end up dead (the guards are pretty hard to fight). Nice choice.

Oh, the pre-Podrace scene, when you're wandering around Mos Espa. Great for recreation as well as misson-wise. I've tried several times to kill every single person in the town, though I generally only get through a few sections before the jawas and Guards chase me out.

I liked Mos Espa. "GRR! YOU'RE A NO GOOD KILLER!" Had a lot of cool things, trying to kill the whole town was tough though. Best thing was starting a war with the Jawas.
I also liked Ohta Gunga.

My first playthough, my graphics card couldn't handle Otoh Gunga, so everything was a solid brown color instead of transparent. Do you know how difficult it is to play that level when you can't see?
Also, during my confusion, I found out that the gungans throw thermal detonators if you kill enough annoying gungan kids. Live and learn, I guess...

Eh, I had to use the first person cheat, and then it wasn't so bad. Even so, it was a relief when I finally got a new graphics card that supported the game.
I think just about all of Tatooine was the best for me. All the potential exploration was great.

1. Trade Federation Battleship = An alright Level. Got me into the game. 6/10
2. Swamps Of Naboo = Personally, to me, it's a boring Level. You have to find Qui-Gon with the help of Jar Jar. 5/10
3. Otoh Gunga = A nice relaxing Level for me. No Battle Droids, just a whole lot of Gungans. It can be fun to kill the Gungans. 8/10
4. Gardens Of Theed = Another relaxing Level, even though there was a lot of Battle Droids. 7/10
5. Escape From Theed = This is when the Game started to get hard. Defending the Queen seemed to be hard, but I managed to defend her. 8/10
6. Mos Espa = Finally you get to be Qui-Gon. 9/10
7. Mos Espa Arena = Another good Level. 9/10
8. Encounter In The Desert = Too short but good. 8/10
9. Coruscant = This is another hard Level which I liked. 9/10
10. Assault On Theed = Return to Theed, but a lot easier. 9/10
11. The Final Battle = I found this boring. It's good once you find the Viceroy and battle Darth Maul. 9/10

My favourite is Gardens of Theed, by far.
I really liked to completely clear it (blowing up the AATs with the "happy" cheat) and calling the place "my private gardens" .
I also liked the Trade Federation Ship level. I have always liked the opening scenes of TPM, and the level captures the feel decently.

Some of the jumps you had to do in that place were just a pain. And I always thought that Darth Maul was disappointing. Saber combat in that game was a sloppy joke.

At least SWBF2 is more about troopers with guns than Jedi with sabres. In TPM, you spend, like, 90% of your time as a Jedi. The end was extremely anticlimatic.

Yeah, TPM really sucks like a 'pure action'-game. But it's fun to explore the worlds!

Yes, but exploring the worlds, rather than combat, really was the point of the game. I feel I should remind you that this game came out in 1999 and the other Star Wars games out at the time didn't have saber combat that was all that much better. It was really the JediKnight sequels that got all that going.
I like the Theed levels, but I think I like the Mos Espa levels best (although they are slow to load on the PC). I too have done my time as a NO GOOD KILLER! (RAR!)

Yeah, definitely the world exploration that was great with TPM.
P.S. the not-Gammoreans were invented for the game because, IIRC, LucasArts told them not to use Gammoreans for some inexplicable reason.

Well, I kind of agree with you on the world exploration. Tatooine and Naboo levels were quite great.
But Jedi Knight 1's sabre combat *was* nice. Clearly better than in TPM. Of course, it was a bit shallow until JO, but it was great for that time.

For some reason Lego Star Wars reminds me of TPM. I just bought it last week, and the simple controls make me think of it for some reason. (Even though I had TPM for the PS1 and got Lego Star Wars for the PC.)
I wish I had TPM for my PC.

So get it for the PC. It can't cost more than a couple bucks now.
And yeah, the JK 1 combat was better, but not all that much. I spent most of the game deflecting laser bolts, just like in TPM. It had much better force powers, of course.

Eh, I cared for the saber combat in JK1 less than in TPM, because the saber graphics really sucked. Yeah, I'm 'shallow' like that. XD
I'd get TPM again in a heartbeat if I had any free time for it at all. Sadly, that isn't looking good at the moment.
