Are you a Cheater?
I'm just curious.. a lot of you have finished the game already. I was just wondering how many have won it using cheats and how many without. I'm talking not even using clip to get through walls you're stuck in. (hey I finished the bomb level without)
I don't use cheats. I'm playing this game w/o having played Jedi Outcast etc. I'm on the Hoth level - for reasons that I just don't have a lot of time to play and I am not cheating.
Thanks!

To complete the SP campaign (twice - once Light side, the other Dark side), I didn't cheat once. I never use cheats when I'm playing through SP.
However, that's not to say I didn't mess around after completion with things like turning into a Jawa, etc.
The only game I ever used a 'cheat' on to complete was Soldier Of Fortune II, because it simply got annoying/frustrating and I wanted to finish it quickly.

Only time I cheated in a game was after I had beaten JK: dark forces. Then I tried a few just to check them out.
I don't see the sence in playing if your going to cheat.
I also tried to use a cheat once during Half-Life on hard mode. I was down to 15 health on no armor and I was getting naded by the grunts. I couldn't get the cheat to add health to work. So I just had to be a little more sneaky on my attack.
They is always a way around a hard spot with out having to resort to cheating.

I finished the SP game twice without cheating (light & dark side). Now I use cheats, but only to let me use the saberstaff or dual sabers from the beginning of the game.

I completed the game without using any cheats , although sometimes I did go back to an earlier level to mill about with NPC spawns and whatnot.

Depending on which cheats you use, it can make the game way to easy. So I never really use cheats. I certainly didn't the first time through the game...

well i wouldn't call my self a cheater, just lazy, cause i bind 'give health' and 'give armor' to i and o, but that is only cause i hate going back to find armor/health. so in a sense i "cheat"

Ive completed the game twice on both sides without using cheats. But now ive completed it, instead of playing in multiplayer against the comp i just find a nice location, i.e the last map, and spawn lots of enemies to fight against, aswell as changing my appearence to a jawa or something. Just started using iknowkungfu too, thats pretty cool.. damn annoying though because i don't know the combinations, i just end up doing random things.

NO cheats!
Cheating is stupid. If you can't beat the game without cheats, you stink. The last time I used them out of necessity was when I was a little kid. Playing my first FPS (JK) I had no idea what I was doing. Since then, I only use cheats to do funny stuff. And only after beating the game.

I've been constantly cheating since I got the game (and with the demo).
Of course I'm not using god mode or anything like that, but I'm using cheats that enhance the experience for me like full dismemberment, a red saber, etc.
I'm also using a mod to give Kyle a cooler looking skin, and modified his saber to be orange instead of blue (which is how I played Jedi Outcast as him).
And yes, occasionally I'll spawn in an enemy or two and fight them (easier than reloading a particularly good saber battle).

Finished the game withput the first time, then played through with God,Give All, Setforceall 3,G_saberrealisticcombat 3
I usually mess around with the Playermodel command playing as Boba Fett and anyone else.

I use cheats because i am lazy. i hate dying and i hate reloading. I'm interested in the game as a whole; where it goes, how the level looks, how you get there. i like to scope everything out first before i try to do the whole thing with no cheats. That doesn't mean that i go through the whole thing in god mode, but maybe toward the end when you have to deal with saber duel after saber duel.
i admit i'm not the best gamer, but i don't play games to "beat" them, so to speak. i just like to see all the levels and i see no reason to prevent myself from moving on for the sake of some idealization of gaming.

the only time I cheated on JA is after I beat the game on both light and dark sides when I was just spawning stuff and fighting them for fun.

Cheating? Whats that? Oh... Making the game go largely in your favor... I may have done that a few times... Like, every game I play since Thexder

Thexder! Ah, now that brings back memories.
I played through the SP campaign once without cheating. On my subsequent 9 times through (I'm on my 10th run through SP), I've played with my neutral force powers set to full (i.e. force pull, push, speed). I also often turn on notarget, walk into the next room, spawn a couple of extra Reborn, walk back out, turn off notarget, then walk back in for a bit of fun.

Play dark and light through with no cheats. Now I'm cheating by giving myself dual sabers from the get go. Maybe next time I'll try some other cheats, ya know, just to mix things up a bit. I wonder what it would be like to play through the game as spoiler: that has been posted in numerous topic subject lines] Fett
. Jet pack could make the game a little different.

I don't cheat at all the first couple times through, then if it suits me, I might do give all, or god, or even change my saber type. It all depends on what I want.

Yeah, JA is one of those games (I had the same problem with Deus Ex and Rune) that its SO MUCH FUN to mess around with cheats, that I often stop actually trying to beat the level I'm on and mess around, then reload my game back.
It makes the time it takes to beat the SP game grow exponentially... heh ; )

i didnt use the cheats the first 3 times
had to finish it again on good cuz the bad ending made me feel horribal
in JO i used to go in the academy and where those jedi r saber training and turn on god and join in good fun
and in JA i mostly go on a small level and when ive completed the level go back with noclip and turn all stormtroopers into reborns and tavions and aloras and also add in an immortal bobafett for fun
or try and go through the swoop level in a tie or run through the first levels on a swoop ( i killed tavion with a swoop once )

The game in Jedi Knight was easy enough without cheating....
I'm going through again in master, and it's not really harder. Ah, I miss the first levels of JK2

I completed it light and dark side with no cheats.
Then I went back and started from scratch to use only dark side powers just to see how Kyle reacts at each stage and I used God mode. I was very disapointed.

You really don't have to cheat to beat this game. It was abit on the easy side.

Seems to defeat the point of the game if you cheat. Dirty cheaters

for some people, playing the game is similar to watching one of the star wars movies, except you have input on the interaction. not everyone plays the game for the purpose of beating or conquering something.

i dont consider it cheating if it does nothing to make gameplay easier. if youre only changing things that enhance appearance i wouldnt call you a cheater. i think theres a difference between cheating and enhancing.
