Kotor 1: PC Version Cheat Codes

Personally I only use cheats AFTER I've beaten the game several times. I've played both KOTOR 1 & 2 several times without cheats or mods and decided to play the games again using mods and the cheat codes this last time around. I found that I didn't like using the cheats on the first game since somehow Bastila's conversation about her mother never comes up. When I went back and played without the cheats, in the same manner as with the cheats, the conversation came up.

Frankly, I don't think it's my business if someone uses a cheat or mod UNLESS it's in a multiplayer game and have an advantage over other people.

I'm stupid, It doesn't work... I edited the .ini file as described, but when I'm in the game and press 1 (because there's that vavy thingie) it won't work...

Make sure you changed it precisely, because even if it's spelt Enablecheats=1, it won't work. It has to be EnableCheats=1, as the line right under the title [Game Options].

Also, make sure it's the button beside one, right above TAB that you're pressing. That's the button that activates the cheats on a standard keyboard.

EDIT: Sorry, Italian. The buttons on your keyboard are msot likely different than mine. It's the tilde sign (~), at any rate.

swkotor.ini should be located in your game's main directory (for KotOR I) ...

If it's for TSL (KotOR II).. you'll be looking for

swkotor2.ini

it (they) should appear in your inventory once you press enter...

If you entere an invalid code.. you'll get a "null-nade" which looks like a grenade with no descriptions...

Which mod is it, and what item code are you typing (or trying to get)?

and kotor 2d.cue

I cant find the swkotor.ini thing, ive looked it up in the LucasArts -> SWKotOR folder also

go to search, type in the location of the SWKotOR folder and search for it. works every time. for me at least.

and just a curious question: is there a cheat for K1 that allows for invulnerability?

yup.. it's a pain to spell, but at least you can see what you're doing in KotOR's console

I was playtesting a mix of mods I found and used the invincibility cheat, I'm used to my mixes not working, however, they did, and I want to keep playing, a little less indestructably. How do I turn the invulnerability cheat off?

I have beaten the game 26 times...Thats right 26 times. That was on Xbox though and I just decided to buy th PC version last weekend.I got some cool mods and cheats and have used them. Normally i am against cheating but I just wanted to get some cool weapons and armor.

There is supposed to be a PC mod out there that have you start out as a Jedi Padawan, trainining on Dantoonie. It provides a different storyline than what you have when you are playing the regural game. I don't know where it is though.

Ok, so I tried to cheat myself to the nice jurgan kaltas assult rifle (I didn't expect dantoine to blow up), but somehow it won't work. It's probably just me writing something wrong. So if it isn't to much to ask for, could someone write exactly what I need to write in order to get it?

I try and edit the swkotor.ini file, but it says the file is read only. Is there some way around this?

What does this mean and how can I fix it?

Right click it, go to item properties and uncheck read only.

Also are you editing the correct file, should be a word pad file with a cog over it (at least thats how it displays on my machien).

Yes, the file is a notepad file with a cog over it. And I did the uncheck read only thing, so now that message doesnt pop up, but I still get the other error message.

Hmm, not that this should make any difference, but have you clicked save, or save as? Try just clicking save.

Also is that file path where you have the game installed?

Yes, that is where I have the game installed, and I have been trying both save and save as. Neither work.
