That game looks freaking awesome. The problem I see is that you'll probably need a Pentium V processor @ 5.6 GHz, 4 GB DDR, and a 1 GB video card to run it smoothly.
Other than that, it's great.

I've been waiting for this game a while. And I would assume the specs would be the same as CnC Generals since the same people are making BFME.

And it's the same engine. good thing they did with the infantry. They don't look crappy like in C&C Generals(seriously, I know it's the C&C reputation to have crappy undetailed infantry units but did they really have to do so?)

And the game looks so much better than the "war of the ring" RPG wannabe...
And yeah, the units look really better than those in generals (US marines = weird guys with large sticks... bleh...)
btw, do we know what the 4 sides are?

Rohan, Gondor, Isengard and Mordor. Duh.
And somehow you'll be able to call on Elves, Ents and other stuff for help. Initially I heard a rumor of no multiplayer ability, but that seemed a little bit of a stretch for an RTS. And with this franchise nonetheless. It's easy bank. But they are tweaking the multiplayer aspect at the moment. (Read that in an intv. somewhere with the producer).
This appears to be the Witch-King of Angmar vs. Theoden on the fields of Pelennor! (though it's more like a 1 vs. 1, but you get the idea.)

You sure?
Gondor and Rohan are not THAT different in the movies, as are Isengard and Mordor...
I mean, an orc is an orc, and an uruk is an uruk! The designers will have a hard time at creating different units, especially for Isen and Mordor, IMO.

I guess I'm going to be even more interested in this game as I finish reading the Lord of the Rings.
Yes, that's right, you saw correctly...READ, not REREAD...at last my shame is made public (again, reread the ROTK Review thread & I think I mentioned it there).
I am reading it during the down time at work (which is considerable on saturdays) and have made it up to the Watchtower (chapter 11, "A Knife in the Dark").
And so you know, I started with The Hobbit, which I read fully in about 2 days, so I got all of the backstory.
Life isn't like playing poker. It's like playing a game where you don't know the rules in a dark room using blank cards with a dealer who Always Smiles.

Don't feel bad Homer, I started reading the first one, but because of school, I haven't had time to read so I'm stuck when they meet Tom Bombadil.

I'm not done with them either I actually started to read them after seeing the RotK movie. Right now, I'm in TTT, the chapter when gandalf rides to Edoras.

Ah... Where is the horse and the rider?
You'll meet Erkenbrand of the Westfold and see how they chopped Eomer's role too.
As far as Rohan and Gondor, they're COMPLETELY different! Especially in terms of fighting style.
Isengard is all Uruks and worker orcs. Mordor would be like the Empire in terms of size and strength. they have everything.

I can't wait to try a demo of this game. It certainly looks the business, but the real test will be in the gameplay and interface.

Well, it's supposed to be more of a LOTR game than a hardcore RTS game. You don't always have total control of a unit... Example: You have a Mumakil on a rampage... it gets shot a LOT... it runs all over and you lose control because it's hurt. Ex. #2: You have an Ent kicking butt... someone sets it on fire... it runs for water on it's own.

I have no problem with that at all. In fact it sounds pretty good to me, and more realistic in the context of what's happening.
Anyway, it would be great to see another Star Wars RTS using an engine like this one.
