Got the game? Post your first impressions here!
--> and use spoiler tags when you post spoilers! <--
We had that thread for KotOR 1 and I thought it would be nice to have it for the sequel.
So after playing the game a little, what are your first impressions?

Any new pc heads?
Edit: Don't double post.
It was probably a little mistake after playing kotor2 a little to much and getting brainwashed..
Or something.

I love the interface this year, you don't have to pause and unequip your weapons. So far, this game is awesome.

It's awesome. I do have a slight "been there done that" feel, but there are so many new things, and so far, the story has been great. Lots of *little* twists to make you question whether or not you've got the story right.
First the bad: I feel the movements/camera view is kind of awkward (I only played KotOR I on PC), the load times are inferior to the PC (not surprisingly), and the frame rate drops fairly often, but not to an extent to be more than a nuisance at worst. My biggest complaint right now is there were times when I felt like I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing; I just ran from place to place and stumbled over (as mentioned elsewhere, it's fairly linear at the beginning) what to do next. You can't switch back and forth among upgrading and breaking down/creating items without leaving the workbench; pretty silly. (Maybe I'm missing something...)
The good: Oh, where to begin.
TONS of new stuff; I'm overwhelmed by the Workbench/lab.
Voice acting is good so far.
Good dialogue with more choices than in KotOR I.
My first 6-hour binge was just enough to get me off of the Peragus Mining COlony.
The story is GREAT so far.
The characters are great; they definitely have that "Star Wars" aura about them.
Already found some unique (I think) items.
Oh, this was AWESOME too: "customized" things. I don't want to go into detail, but I've already recovered one item spoiler:named [My Character's Name]'s [item here].
Must....go.....to.....bed. Must not....call in sick.....to work....in order ....to play TSL...ALL DAY.....

I had a funny feeling they would do that, though I didn't know how. Very cool! (I can already forsee the modding is going to be great for this game)

I wish you could toggle a beard to any of the male faces when choosing your character. I saw a face I wanted but it didn't have a beard and I figured if my character was in exile he would have a beard.

Yeah, definitely, I wish your jedi was more customizable than that. I've always wanted to see a jedi with an afro.

All I know is that its nothing near easy, like a few of the reviews said. I actually think its much harder then the first game, but thats my opinion!

NICE! I've sent about two and a half hours on it, and I'm lovin it! Sure, it does have a slight 'been there, done that' feel to it, but it is so addicting. For some reason, I can feel a darker tinge to the game, and I haven't even ran into any 'living' enemys yet.

It feels more like an expansion pack than an actual sequel. I am glad they left things alone, however I wish the lightsaber moves where more fluid. Regardless it is a superb game with an intriguing story.

According to the first chapter of the prima stratergy guide you can download on the official lucasarts site.
spoiler:to get a prestige class you need to have visas marr on your team (or just have met her but i'm not sure) and be level 15. you then speak to kreia on the ebon hawk (i think) you should check that chapter of the stratergy guide that can be downloaded free from lucasarts.com

I just got to the surface of Telos.
I was wondering about the reviews saying the game was darker than the first till I saw the scene with spoiler: Sion and Kreia. When he kiss her @ss. I was like, whoah!! Obsidian stepped it up with the violence. I was wondering why the game was rated Teen for blood and violence.

The best thing about the game thus far, was getting off of that space station. I am concerned with the extensive amount of dialogue tha the game appears to have, Id just prefer to run around Telos and raise the body count.

I wonder what I was thinking about? That's a different game.
I was going to edit it and fix it but it's funnier as a mistake.

I would say 9 except for the fact that both Force Armor and Master Speed DO NOT WORK. WTF why hasn't anyone else noticed this. Neither one of these force powers add the defense bonus they are supposed to. How can you release the game when Force Armor which is specifically designed to raise your defense for a short while DOESN'T WORK.

I think someone answered your dilemma on the other thread you posted about that problem.
from what I've seen of TSL, I'd rate it a solid 9. I love the vibes from it, and it looks like Nihilus is going to be a great villain, as well as Sion.

no, he didnt. he misinterpreted the problem and found a solution for a question I didnt even ask. Test it out for yourself, try casting force armor or knight speed and see if your defense raises. and then cry.

Wow, thais game is incredible! I think the story is darker than the prequel. I like the prologue. It's great to have you party in motion in the Ebon Hawk (T3-M4 moving around).
Hey, it's grerat to have Nar Shaddad (I hope I spell it correctly)as one of your places to visit.

The game IS bloody awesome. I just finished it a few minutes ago. Took me about 32 hours, so I was disappointed that it wasn't the 35-40 the reviews kept saying. I'd give it an 8. The first 25 hours were just wicked awesome, and I never wanted them to end.

While this isn't a first impression...
[Begin Rant]
spoiler: IMHO it takes way too long to aquire a lightsaber in the game, and for all the effort it just doesn't pay off... ooh... they increased the damage a little... so what... it still is just a 2-20 blade weapon, no initial bonus to hit/deflection/damage... nothing to make it worth the wait for it in the game... it is the single biggest let down to me so far.
You should get to construct one in the old Jedi Academy (Like I expected once I unexpectedly arrived there). Though I do realise what OE was trying to do, they just needed to not hold it off for that long, it is the only part of the game that has made me say... "Well that sucks!!!" and "OE really messed up with this!!!"
[End Rant]
But the game as a whole is not that bad, there is a lot about it I really like, I just have the one above complaint.
This is all just my 2 cents!

LOL! I disagree with you here (That must be a first! )
spoiler:I like the fact that they made it hard to acquire a lightsaber and that there are not tons of lightsabers in the game like in KotOR 1. Running around like crazy around the old Jedi Enclave to find nothing was kinda fun...I went there 2 times, double checking the crates to make sure I didn't forgot anything I found the way to acquire the last missing part interesting....especially when playing DS
