Svafa: You will need to do better thant that if you want to live.

Lounge:

Heimdall: No, nothing to do with the time matrix. It's a little complicated but suffice to say he came back to life because of where he was when he died and the drakes whom found him.

Marin: So... something like magic? Or was reality altered? What did you mean by keeping your memories?

Svafa: You are welcome to try again if you wish. Doing so will mean your sisters death. Of course, unless you do give me something more substantial that will happen anyways, same with your death.

Last chance.

Lounge

Heimdall: Something like magic. As far as keeping your memories, I mean exactly that. What if after everything goes back, you retain memories of everything that has gone on here. In which case you will still know how to fight with a sword, but would you want to still give up on being a diplomat?

Jeramine: Why would I try again when I've already had the chance to kill your friends who saved my sister, and didn't? I have nothing to offer you except the assurance that if my sister dies you and I all will, perhaps except for K'Warra. If you don't trust my word, your Shadow friend can at least tell you I'm not bluffing.

Marin: No. No, I suppose I would not.

Raschel: *Addressing the Asgardried* I hope you don't mind me asking... but where are we heading now?

Svafa: Because you are a fool? Unless Guy has something to ensure your loyalty I'm afraid you've wasted your last chance. Pity though, I was going to let you live given that you were only a hired hand.

Heimdall: Then don't give up on it know. You never know what the future holds.

Guy: *sighing* As I tried to tell you, I can keep them imprisoned, or under restraints to make it difficult for them to use magic or fight. *to the orcs* If we swear not harm you or your sister, will you swear on the fire of the Underland, your ancestral home, to not attack or do anything that will bring us harm so long as you are in our custody here?

Jeramine: If you swear not to harm her? Yes.

K'Warra: And I was so hoping to see you two try to kill each other...

Svafa *to Guy*: You had best ensure they are imprisoned and restrained. Their lives are now dependent on Aidan's. If he dies, then they will die. Call your ship and get them off the Asgardried, these two will be your responsibility.

Guy: Very well. *Three spider droids emerge from his ship. One approaches Jeramine and attaches restraints to her arms, legs, and neck. The other does the same to Kiri. The third, a smaller droid of a different form, presses glowing devices to Matt's and Kiri's foreheads and raises the two of them, held flat, into the air.

Within minutes, the main hull of Guy's ship arrives. Guy transports the orcs outside the Asgardried*

((Sorry. If you want to encase this in D&D terms, these particular orcs come from a society that could be described (poorly) as Lawful Neutral. And there is no such thing as an inherent alignment. Essentially they're survivalists, plains dwellers, who developed a code because they needed unity to survive in their harsh environment. That's one major orc society. The other one is Chaotic Neutral, jungle dwellers. Both have a mythology centered around their emergence from the Great Deep, or the Underland underneath the Aether's surface. Hence the name "Orc/k" - the word comes from Orcus or Orkus, a title of the Greco-Roman god of the underworld. That's besides the Tolkeinesque connection (not D&D - these orcs are in no way porcine.)))

((Alright, Lets see about getting this RPG actually moving))

Time Skip: 5 days

Wolven System

*Early in the morning, the Asgardried disengaged its slipstream drive, slowing to a stop at the edge of the Wolven system. The planet split in half by some anomaly.

Inside the Asgardried

*The internal lights of the Asgardried were lowered for the night cycle. Heimdall was in the lounge, working a piece of mithril while sipping hot tea.*

Asgardried: This is strange

Heimdall: What?

Asgardried: Someone cut the planet in half. I will be very upset if they destroyed my favorite spot on that planet.

Heimdall: You've never been here before.

Asgardried: So?

Heimdall: Nothing, whats our ETA?

Asgardried: Following the map, about thirty minutes.

Wolven System

Guy's Ship

*Guy's ship, no longer bearing signs of scarring, emerges in the middle of the system, somewhat further from the planet than he expected.

Cody and K'Warra stand at a large translucent viewport, watching.

In front of them, a planet lies split in half from the center to the top, surrounded by a meteor field of debris. Extending from the center of the torn planet and reaching 'up' into space many times the planet's height is an immense tear in space, mostly a blinding blue and white color with a gaseous rainbow-colored nebula surrounding its apparent edges.*

K'Warra: Amazing, isn't it.

Cody: What is it?

K'Warra: A tear in reality. A hole in the world.

Cody: Who made it? Where does it go?

K'Warra: I don't know. But I expect we're going to find out. Someone's waiting for us.

Cody: I see her.

K'Warra: I know. She... or it... wants us to.

Cody: She... knows me. She knows us. I can tell.

Cockpit

*Guy checks on Matt before proceeding. He is comatose and on life support from magical radiation infecting some of his wounds, but stable. As he returns to checking analyzations of the dimensional rift splitting the planet open, he suddenly feels the distinct sense of being watched. Yet none of his scanners alert him to anyone on *

Guy: Hello?

*A voice echoes in his head, soundless. Hello, child. I am Ker, and I am called Doom. I wait on the silent planet, and nearly a year have I waited. Come and see me.

Guy views a mental projection of the map inside his mind. It has changed, and the path leads onto the planet itself, on one of the major fragments.

Oddly, a breathable atmosphere has formed there, perhaps leaked from the tear*

Guy: Ship. Analyze and cross-reference the makeup of the atmosphere present on this planet.

Ship: Analyzation result: 100% match found. Location: Earth, sub-plane Aether. Location, 96% likelihood: Upper Archon. Single unidentified life form present.

*Guy sends the results to the Asgardried*

*The orcs advance in good order, until, 500 paces from the Agamari, the ground ripples in front of them and 300 armoured archers with compound bows rise up, lossing volley at the tightly packed shield wall they turn and run. The orcs break into a run in an effort to try and catch them but the archers are too light on their feet. Before they have gone a hundred paces a second line rears up, loosing a volley at close range into the now broken shield wall, over a hundred orcs fall. Now the light archers begin to skirmish back towards the Agamarian line, shooting, running fifteen paces, through the last line and shooting again. The officers now once again have control of their orcs and they move foward slowly, shield up and locked together. With the shield wall taking losses the crossbowmen are trapped behind their lines and unable to use their weapons.*

Asgardried: Tanara's Quarters

"You can't sleep," Elaina said quietly, slipping into Tanara's quarters. Tanara was seated in a meditative stance on her bed and slowly opened her eyes as her sister entered. Shaking her head, she unfolded her legs and let them hang over the edge of the bed.

"No," she agreed. "I can't. Kira wants to use me again. She wants to kill you."

"Because I carry Teri, I suppose," Elaina observed. Tanara nodded.

"I've been fighting her off, but she keeps pushing harder and harder for control," she said. "If I sleep, I'm almost positive I'd awake under her control."

"Perhaps it would be a good idea to inform Idona of Kira's interruption of your sleep cycles," Elaina suggested. With a weary sigh, Tanara nodded.

"Asgardried," she said, "is Idona awake? And if so, where is she? We need to talk to her."

Asgardried: Bridge

*As Heimdall studied the readouts that Guy had sent the door slides open and Vidar enters*

Vidar: Interesting place to start the next part of this quest.

Heimdall: Yes it is. Everyone awake?

Vidar: I believe so, Svafa is looking for Marin to go over a few last minute details in case we have to fight. Gerd is in the upper lounge watching a hologram about the early empires. When I passed the ship was showing her a map of the galaxy outlining their borders. The rest are in the lounge.

Heimdall: Why is Gerd learning about the ancient galatic nations?
-----------------------

Lounge

*The rest of the Aesir were in the main lounge sipping a special mead. Viddall had his legs propped up on the table running a sharpening stone along the edge of his blade. Idona, and Valda sat at a table looking over a monitor while Idun headed towards the kitchen. Ragnar sat beside Viddall pulling on his guantlets and checking his gear.*

------------------------

Tanara's quarters

Asgardried: I don't know if I should tell you, after all you didn't say please...well I guess I could just this one time, I'm sure Idona will eventually get along to teaching you some manners. At least she better lest I interrupt her honeymoon.

Anyways she is in the lounge with the others. Don't worry you can tell her all your problems their the Aesir all know what plagues you.

Tanara smiled faintly. "Perhaps a 'thank you' now will slightly negate the offense of having missed the 'please'," she said. Sighing, she stood. "Come along, Elaina. Let's see if we can't do something to get me some rest."

Idun: *Handing the tankard to Tanara* Here, drink this. It is a special mead that will reviatlize you, you should feel like you had a good eight hours of restful sleep. When you finish it just put it back in the kitchen, I now need to get some things ready, have a nice chat with Idona.

Tanara smiled, took the tankard and thanked Idun. As the sisters moved past her toward Idona, Elaina quietly asked Tanara, "Is it just me, or do the Aesir seem to know everything before we mention it?"

Tanara smiled slightly. "Well, I do look like I've not had a decent period of rest in a couple of days," she commented. She drank the contents of the tankard and approached Idona.

"I hope we're not interrupting anything," she said quietly.

*At 200 paces the Longbowmen begin firing over the heads of the orcs, taking fire from two sides the shield wall grinds to a halt and the orcs dig in, shields locked together, heads down. Slowly, they begin to retire, this action losing them more men. The Agamari skirmishers follow them, losing five more volleys, they retire with empty quivers, having forced the orcs back 400 paces from the main line. The elite skirmishers retire behind the Agamari infantry and take up fresh quivers.

No longer being peppered by arrows the Tarsai bring their crossbowmen foward, advancing to 300 paces they begin lossing volleys, their weapons out-ranging the Agamari longbows. Now properly covered the orcish infantry begin to advance once more.*

Guy's Ship

*Sir-Vin desided to take this leg of the trip on Guy's ship. He stood awake watching out of one of the portholes.

When both ships broke hyperspace and was viewed the awe of the planet, Sir-vin came to the cockpit to view the sight.*

Guy: *comm* Recommend we land. It seems someone is waiting for us.

*The ship begins to head for the planet's surface....

Sir-Vin remained quiet during the decent, but his interest grew as the planet got closer. Suddenly as the ship hit atmo., Sir-vin's arm that he'd been leaning on one of the cockpit's chair's, gives out. Sir-vin instinctively holds his head with his other hand and then falls to the floor fainted.

The red tint in his hair bleeds out like water onto the floor and his hair fades to black.*

((There you go red, i think this should take care of survie for this thread for a while...))

Asgardried Lounge

*Idona smiles, and turns the screen she was watching so it faced Tanara and Eliana. On the monitor were poorly done caricature of the sisters with word bubbles coming from them. Eliana's bubble said "Is it just me because I'm not very smart, or do the Aesir seem to know everything before we mention it". Tanara's bubble held "I do look like I've not had a decent period of rest in a couple of days, but I always look like that don't I..."*

Idona: No you are not interrupting anything, and to answer your question Eliana. Remember you are inside a ship that is aware of itself and you and everything you do within it and a fair distance away. If it deems something important enough the Asgardried will tell us about it, normally it just tells us the situation. This time the ship felt like being an artist, and I would guess you two did something this morning to upset the Asgardried.

Asgardried: Hey, those pictures show a very good likeness of those two, besides they were rude to me. I can if you want print out copies of those so you may cherish them and forever be reminded of my genius...

Idona: As I was saying, outside the ship you are usually around Heimdall and he has better hearing then you would believe, I dare say he probably could be listening to us right now without the aid of the ship. Now why don't you two have a seat and tell me what exactly is happening.
--------------------------------------

*Meanwhile the Asgardried approaches the planet and begins to land*

"Well, for starters, I think we've learned to say please and thank you, no matter what," Elaina muttered. Tanara spoke as if she hadn't heard her sister's words.

"It's about Kira," she said. "I think I underestimated her strength. I haven't slept in two days because I'm almost sure that, if I do, I'll wake up under her control."

"But Teri's been nice and quiet," Elaina cut in. "And we suspect it's because of the seperation of the two women that Kira wants to gain control now."

"I know what she wants," Tanara said. "She's told me... bragged about what she'll do when I no longer have the strength to hold her down. She wants to kill Elaina so she can be completely rid of Teri." Glancing over at Elaina, she said to Idona, "If you're willing, I'd like further training to restrain her."

Idona: I will give you further training in restraining her. I still need to give both of you more advanced lightsaber training as well... Unfortuneatly we are about to land so the training is going to have to wait. Until we get you to a point where Kira is no longer a threat Idun will supply you with Manid mead which you will drink every morning. This way your body won't degrad from a lack of sleep.

During the night, Heimdall will keep you company. He doesn't sleep, and can look out for you just in case. Otherwise when we are away from the ship I want you to stay around an Aesir. Now get anything you want to take with you and meet us at the forward entrance ramp.
------------------------------------------

A couple minutes later the Asgardried touched down on the fragmented planet

*Heimdall and Vidar lead the group from the Asgardried, their hands idly resting on their sword hilts as they scanned the horizon. Finally their eyes settle to the lone inhabitant of the planet*

((Admiral: The Asgardried is still my favorite character of yours.))

*Guy's ship has landed nearby. Guy, K'Warra, and Cody [and whoever else is in Guy's ship that I've forgotten] join the rest of the group.

The area is covered in sand and rock. The main rift is close, crackling in the distance with blue energy. Minor cracks shiver through the air in the landscape around the group. The atmosphere is hot and would be more uncomfortable if not for the slight breeze blowing from the rift.

A hunched figure rises slowly from the ground. Sand pours from her hooded cloak, collected there over what could have been months. Her cloak in turn falls from her frame as she straightens. Her skin is charcoal-gray, and her eyes are pools of black. But her sharp teeth glimmer white as she speaks, smiling.

No sound comes from her mouth as her lips move, but a voice sounds in the groups' minds.*

Figure: <Greetings, travellers. In the past I am called Doom. Unfortunately you no longer understand that word as it was intended to be. So you may call me by another word you do not understand. I am ker. I have waited for you nearly a year. Now tell me, why have you come?>

Heimdall: I think you already know why we are here, and if you don't I'm not sure why we should tell you...

Ker: <Of course I know that you seek the Time Matrix, though you will find that there will soon be few left who do not know of your mission. I know you are in this place because your map has led you to me. But that does not speak to your motivations, does it? Your every move has been manipulated to bring you here. You have all at least suspected this from the beginning. Yet none of you know precisely where your quest will lead you, or whether or not you will survive. I'm sure some of you have begun to suspect that your mission may involve causing yourselves to cease to exist. Why do you continue? What do you hope to accomplish?>

*Vidar slowly walks around Ker looking her up and down*

Vidar: You know as well as I those answers are slightly different for each one is this party. Although one could say most here are on this quest in the hopes to delay the lost of friends and loved ones. They continue because of this hope, because even though death awaits them keeping active is better then just waiting the wolf.

This though you should already know... and as the pervious stages of the quests manipulated this group, you do so now with your questions. You also should know that this group hopes to bring the end to Gotterdammerung.

Now let me ask, why have you waited for us? What purpose do you serve?

Ker: <Waiting for the wolf? I like that answer. Why have I waited for you, you ask? It is my job to open the way to the next step of your chosen doom. However, like all guardians, I will not do this without some form of payment. My form of payment shall be the answer of a question, which all of you must provide. If any of you are not willing to answer my question acceptably, then you must leave now. My question is this: How do you believe you are going to die?>

Vidar: I will first die in the all consuming fires, after I tear asunder the wolf with my hands. The cleansing waters though will save me from enternal death, they will bring life back to this body, where I will live till cycle must start aknew then my second death will be upon a sword.

Heimdall: I will die after I finish my fight with Loki, he will die before I, but give me enough wounds so that I will have just enough strenght to find a place to rest and as my blood spills to the ground.

Idona: A Jotun by the name of Angrbodi, will have my head but not before my sword finds home in her stomach.

Idun: I will first die by an arrow going through my neck as I tend wounded, though the cleansing waters will bring life back to me, till two more arrows find me.

Viddall: In battle, burned alive by the two sons of a Jotun I slew moments before.

Ragnar: Simply really, I'll die as a Jotun takes my leg, and Nidhogg takes my head.

Svafa: Slowly in battle will I perish, Glut will maim my left arm, so it bleeds slowly leaving a trail of red behind me as I push on. The bloodloss will slow me, allowing me to succumb to the minions of Hel.

Valda: Hel's minions will overwhelm me as I defend the wounded.

Gerd: I guess, like them I'll eventually die in battle.

Idun: Gerd, is to young to know her fate yet. She is right though her death waits for her in battle. She will die defending the lifeless body of her love, surrounded by bodies of those she called friend, overwhelmed by the race that scorned her and hates who she is.

Ker: *speaking over Idun* <Stop. You may not answer for another. Gerd, you must answer again, as if you had not heard what your companion has just spoken. You must answer from your own dreams, and your own beliefs, and your own fears, and your own desires. Now resume.>

((Note to all: Every character present is supposed answer the question. That means all of the rest of you. ))

Gerd: Um....I know I won't die of age or of sickness. That leaves only death by other means I prefer to believe it will happen in battle next to my chosen family. I...um, suppose my death will be at the hands of my people since they tried to kill me before, so most likely it will be with fire or with frost, perhaps both I guess. That is at least what my nightmares tell me.

Asgardried *after listening in*: I of course being a true immortal shall never perish, instead after all you peons are gone I will wander the stars looking for a new people who are worthy of my divine grace. They will give me the respect that I truely deserve...

*After a final exchange of arrows the two shieldwalls charge, the Agamari fling their barbed javalins while the Orcs hurl throwing axes and then both draw swords. The two walls clash together and the blood begins to flow. After their costly advance the Orcish shieldwall numbers only slightly more than the Agamari and with the longbow men taking a toll the enemy the battle is balanced.

Unfortunately for the Agamari the dreaded Hellriders threatened their right flank and outnumbering the Landsmen ten to one their charge would finish the battle, unless the Dragon Lord could come up with something truly special.*

*Orthos, Ellela and Gortick think long and hard*

Orthos: I am Starkiller. How I die doesn't matter, because my soul will join the rest of them to return again when we are called. I reckon I'll die when whatever task I'm lumbered with this time is over..

Elella: Honestly...*she stares away from everyone* I don't think I'll reach the end of this one. But I'm still going because maybe my death will allow the quest to succeed.

Gortick: *He looks down at the floor* I was hidden because I am destructive. I will die because for whatever reason I'm going to destroy myself.

*The other two look at him in horror*

Ker: *raising her hand again for silence* <Stop. The three of you must continue to answer.> *pointing to Orthos* <I asked how you believe you will die. You, not Starkiller. You are not Starkiller. You bear the Starkiller. You must answer for you, yourself.> *pointing to Ellela* <You have accepted your death. But you must tell me how you believe you will die, or at least how you imagine you will die.> *pointing to Gortick* <And you must tell me more. You must tell me how you believe you will destroy yourself. Now resume.>
