To build, or not to build? (JA editing)
Hi, everybody. Just joined today! I have been playing JA for a long time, and I'd like to know how I can create my own maps, and put them together into a .pk3 file. I'm not yet interested in skinning, or changing the game rules yet (though I have a few changes in mind.) So, how can I go about this? What are the programs you can use?
Thanks in advance,
StaffSaberist

Ah. I see. Thanks! *looks at page* this may be more difficult than I expected... no matter.
EDIT - I am having trouble, now. It seems to be unable to do this for JA. When I save it as a .map, JA can't find it (needs to be a .bsp) But when I save as a .bsp: I get an interesting message, saying a version number needs to be changed. Um... what is that? Do I need to install JO? Because I can, if I have to. But I shouldn't have to!

I don't like spamming (esp. not my own threads) but this is getting annoying. I would love to get this going, but the level is not loading. The exact message I get is:
Error:
CM_LoadMap:
maps/firstmap.bsp has wrong version number
(1935764579
should be 1)
Actually, I'll take this problem to the JA mapping section, which this whole thread should be in. Oops.

Strange... Welcome to the forums, BTW. I used to map for JKA... so maybe I can help you out. You are using GTK Radient right?

You are compiling it, not just saving it with .bsp extension, right?

Thats what I was wondering... but anyways, riceplant, I don't think he is checking this thread anymore. He has reposted in the JKA Mapping section... so... go there

EDIT: Didn't realise the mods moved it here...
