Great to hear CC!
Not to worry though, we're wise enough to not pressure the 'model man'.. you work at your own pace and we'll just be happy to play with the toys you give us.. hehehe
Good to see you around BTW, I haven't had a chance to say "HiYa" in awhile

i have a question for cchargin or better yet a request..
would you be interested in taking a look at the xbox's .mdl/mdx files?
they shouldn't be all that different from the pc but they would need to be cracked. not to mention the animation too....
as an xbox modder, i get allot of xbox users asking me if i can create characters like cound dooku or can i create new lightsabers and so on.. I tell them "no - the tools for that are only for the pc version, not the xbox" but it would be nice if there was a mdlops that could read the xbox graphics..
if you're intersted and have the time, i could send whatever xbox kotor/kotorII files you'll need more likely the the model, mdx and texture files, that is if you're interested, send me a private message so we can arrange the time...
thanx

Hello all,
I know it has been a while since I started this post, so I thought I would give a status update.
The animations were a bit more tricky than I expected. Right now I can do:
binary -> ascii -> binary -> nwmax
and everything works. But when I do:
binary -> ascii -> binary -> kotor
It doesn't work. The game does not crash, but the animations don't seem to work.
I am still grinding away at it. Once I get a model working in kotor then I can try to figure out work arounds for lightsaber blades and emitters...
And no I have not been playing Civilization 4 for 6 hours everyday! I only play 5.5 hours everyday.

So with this we can add in new animations? Maby new fighting animations?
God knows I could use fighting anims for two-handed weapons..not that it looks bad now, but it's simply not the same. I would like my jedi knights to use the greatsabers with impunity!

Hello all,
Woohoooo!
I finally got binary->ascii->binary->kotor to work!
Using the gizka as my test model, I was able to get it back into kotor with animations working and everything!
Wasn't there someone that wanted to make a "gizka of doom" or something?

I think that a new IG-88 model could be done. I haven't seen fyrwurxx around in a while though. S/He was the one working on an IG-88 model.
If anyone has a droid model that they have created and want to try an alpha of mdlops to see if we can get it in game let me know. It can't use skin mesh or have any emitters though.
Oh! Hey is anybody from the M4-78 Restoration Team about? Got any droid models you wanna try?

Droid models eh? So we could make probe droids and all that Jazz? That might be really helpfull to my mod. Is there an extent here for modelling droids? Like can we go as far as say... Destroyer Droids(Droidekkas)? New droids would be an awsome thing to be able to do. The possibilities are almost endless.
Cheers cchargin. Excellent work.

I guess this means I need to start trying my hands at modeling. Of course I don't think I will make it on the runway.

Welll......this is great! Perhaps we could find a way to apply the Nihilus animations ( and Malak or Bastilla) to another model so we can have different stances and animations for the lightsaber forms. (Eventually) And the thought of Revan's cape getting fixed just makes me happy. Where's T7 with his newest Revan pack for TSL? LOL But I am getting ahead of the game here...

Hello all,
Just when you think you have more time, poof, it vanishes.
OK, so due to lack of time and the fact that testing animations is beyond me, I am making an alpha version of MDLOps available here.
Anyone that wants to try it out and let me know what works and what doesn't can find it at:
http://cchargin.home.comcast.net/kot...s0-6alpha4.zip
--<<** WARNING **>>--
This is an ALPHA! That means there is a chance that models made with it can CRASH kotor! I have seen at least 1 occasion where kotor crashed so hard I had to power-cycle my machine. If crashing your machine or kotor worries you do NOT use this!

No worries Chuck if things go wrong I'll put my head in the noose for the lynching squad for you. Especially since I'm an expendable resource around here unlike you.

so basically what i'm gathering from this is, we'll be able to put nihilus' single saber animations over the standard single saber ones?
I would like to beta test YOUR models

Is it possible to import the animations into say..3ds MAX? or can you only create new ones?
