Every time I get two hundred some kills, the game erases them all, and I start at zero kills again. What is going on here!? ( Star Wars: Battlefront 2)

It is on Xbox. This problem really iritates me. It has happened on Endor and Kamino now, I hit a certain number of kills, I think maybe 225, and then BAM, it says minus 225, and I am back at zero kills. This is pissing me off. Also, I am playing it on 360, but that SHOULD NOT matter in the least.
Actually. Playing on the 360 does matter. The 360 has a problem reading original Xbox discs. You usually have to clear your harddrive cache. Just hold A down as your game is starting, it usually will give you a message or sound to confirm it was cleared.
