If people would join the IRC chat room, #empireatwar, it would be much easier to set up games.

I have 1.02 and play online, I've hosted many games. There are still people using the old patch or none at all because they don't know where to get the files from.

I thought the game would just tell you if you had the need for an update and would download it for you right then and there if you choose so players could not forget to go to the website and look?

Yeah, that's what mine did, and I wasn't even playing an online game.

You can try to monkey-proof your program, but you'll never monkey-proof the monkey.

I guess people just ignore that because I have yet to find someone using 1.02 online.

How can you tell what version they are using?
I figured that the system would not let you even start it if it had different versions.

I went into the IRC and there is a guy named TGS who just sits there and laughs at any discussion you make about the game and attempts to contradict. Great channel.

No one ever talks on IRC

You, like... tried to have an... actual CONVERSATION in... in a public IRC chan?
Don't you know all you're supposed to ever write there is "@find pr0n" and "!list teh musix f0 freez y0!"?!?

:

On topic: If I'm any indication, quite a few people might be scared off by the current network problems and therefore be waiting for 1.whatever.
