Razputin Costume for Cosplay (Yes, I'm serious!)
Okay, this will be fun. There's a anime cosplay convention coming up and since most people dress up as either anime characters or VIDEO GAME characters, I decided to undertake the ultimate challenge.
This girl's going to try and pull off Razputin's look, but I need your help finding the pieces I need to get the costume together, especially when it comes to the headgear...
Anyone willing to help?
The sounds of waves crashed near the shore and a lone girl stood alone, practicing her fighting skills against a fully-animated human dummy made of water. Switchblades in hand, she made her mark almost every time. The last time, however, was a miss that got her send back flying.
"Great, I'm being kicked by a creature I made with my own Hydrokinesis," she muttered before getting back up on her feet, returning the dummy to the ocean.

ZOMG!!!! Those goggels are RAD!! If you can't get a Raz costume, I could send you my Milla dress. However, you can get a football helmet and paint it up some.

When for a few brief seconds, the silence drowns out the noise and I can feel rather than think, and things seem so sharp and the world seems so fresh. I can never make these moments last. I cling to them, but like everything, they fade. I've lived my life on these moments. They pull me back to the present and I realize that everything is exactly the way it was meant to be."

I'm definately getting the Color Cy-t ones in red.
Fortunately, if I'm lucky, I can get my cousin, a total anime fan, to pay for this stuff!
Goggles: check.
EDIT: Before anyone makes a comment about the hair style, I have long enough hair to flip it forward and make it look like Razputin's hair style (as long as I keep the helmet on).
Like I said, I'm serious on this undertaking.

Those goggles are perfect. Wish I still had my Fred costume.
'Kay, things you'll need:
Brown Leather Jacket-These'll run ya about $50-$70, but look PERFECT.
Stripedy Shirt-once again very expensive, but this is the most accurate one I could find without knitting my own.
Helmet-I don't where Raz shops for clothes but it must be expensive. Once again, expensive but really accurate if painted right.
And any pair of brown pants should work well enough from anywehere.
Jeez, really expensive, but very, very, accurate.
I'm done putting links in my signature because every time I do it just links to some old crap I've long since stopped updating.

I don't know where Razputin gets them, either, especially since I don't think the family's all that rich...if it weren't for that crazy outfit of his, I'd so say that Razputin was a gypsy. In fact...I think he really is one.

If all you need is the headgear go with the helmet, it may not look %100 accurate but no-one's head is more horizontal than it is vertical so it's as close as you can get, just paint it all brown except for the indentations which could be a nice dark red.
Post pics when done!

I just assume he picks them up from random people/garage sales/flea markets/etc.
*FLASHBACK!*
RAZ: Oh. Man. Those goggles would look so rad with that outfit I'm trying to put together.
MAN: I'll sell them to you for 10 bucks.
RAZ: I only got 9.50.
MAN: RARARARAR. NO.
RAZ: ... *sulk away*

Lol, nice one, Mashi.
Well, I'm slowly getting the gear together (havent gotten the goggles because I found out that the ones that were found are 50 American dollars before S&H) and I need you opinion.
What are the chances of me managing to pull off Razputin? (See the pics below to know what I mean)

You could try and find a pair at your local Hot Topic. I did...
They were around 12 bucks. They're not as awesome, though.

Girl or not, that chick is my new girlfriend. Even if I already have Stephen all to myself.

Her shirt is more accurate (last photo) so I would suggest getting that green shirt...which can be found at Abercrombie I believe. Her jacket, while pretty close, should be more of a brown. The gloves, backpack and helmet are perfect...
I'll go look up a helmet and report back.

I wouldn't buy one for the sheer fact that you would be egged by anyone with fashion sence if you left the house in a blazer like those.

Well, it does have that three button thing going on...it's brown, and it has those flares.
However, Raz's blazer/jacket seems to be made out of heavier material.
While I personally am not a big fan of blazers, whatever the hell people want to wear...as long as its their own choice, I'm fine with it.

Actually, I always thought that Raz was wearing one of those old school leather aviator's helmets (see examples here, here, here, here, here and here). Hope that helps.
That finished Raz costume kicks ass.

ZOMG!! Snoopy Red Baron cap!!! That's so fly, Raz would so wear a snoopy red baron cap. And it does look quite nice with the silk avaitors scarf as recommended.

Raz... In a red baron cap? I don't really think so... It would rock, yes, but... In other news- I'M TRYING TO DO A RAZ OUTFIT TOO! Of course, I'm across the world from America, so... I shall be finding everything myself! I might be going skiing soon, so there's the goggles, but the helmet, and the bag shall both be problems... I HAVE FOUND THE PANTS AND ALMOST THE TOP THOUGH!!!

Why does everyone want to be Raz when some of the camp kids outfits are so attainable. In my history, I have made both a Milla and a Sasha costume. Thank goodness I had a Sasha-like turtleneck. hand-me-downs rock.
I can make easy character costumes of the camp kids. Milka's probably the easiest, since she's one of the few who doesn't involove the camp shirt. Even though, if you have it (like Cheez and I do.) It would be much easier

Yeah. I'm thinking of selling instructions for costumes for like 5 cents.
Maybe I'll throw in a bubble gum brain for free.

I got a toy brain which is exactly like Raz's and Dogen's and everyone elses presumably. I was with my friend one day, and she was fiddling with it. She threw it somewhere, and it got stuck on top of a roller door. She told me to get a stick, and hey! Now I'm reminding myself of Vernon. So anyway, I couldn't find a stick, and so I grabbed a doll instead. My friend Madds saw it, and called out
"THAT'S NOT A STICK!!!" And then I, cheerful as per usual, called out,
"I know, but it's stick like!" Then we laughed and laughed and laughed.
Anyway, back to the subject. I have a friend who, for my birthday, is going to come as Mikhail (it's a video game themed fancy dress party). I'm going to do either Raz, Sasha or Phoebe. I want to do Sasha, and it'll be difficult to find all his stuff. I think I will do him, actually, because compare him to Raz, and... Either way it'll be a challenge for me. But Sasha is easier, and way cooler than Raz. Any ideas on where I should find my stuff? Bare in mind that I'm not allowed to buy stuff over the net using my parent's credit cards, but I can buy stuff from America when my father travels.

damn, I was planning to go as Sasha Nein this halloween as well. I just need a dark coat and some funky glasses. So I have in mind a list that both you and I will use:
Black, sleek and stylish trenchcoat.
funky tan-tinted sunglasses, preferably rectangular.
striped turtleneck sweater.
black gloves.
sleek black pants.
sleek black shoes.
green face paint.
comb your hair the Sasha Nein way, dye, if needed.
OPTIONAL: a small door from a dollhouse, repainted to be a psycho-portal.

Hmm... all this cosplay makes me want to join in on the fun^^. Just so you know though, if you were/are planning on buying a Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp shirt from Doublefine in either yellow or orange colors, they're all out. I checked a few days ago and they only sell the shirts in brown that looks more like black and grey. Sucky. They have a really cool Kochamara shirt though. My li'l sis wants to be Lili though. She's got the sox and she just needs to grow out her hair, but she needs the shoes, skirt and top. The top in particular is hard to find.
