RIP Velasco
When updating an article for that online encyclopedia Wikipedia, I came across the small-time actor known as Kay E Kuter. I only knew Kay Kuter as the posh and dull voice of Griswold Goodsoup; a character featured in The Curse of Monkey Island. He was one of my favourite characters because of his certain ramblings on about the past and his strange little stories; but he had a wonderfully wise-sounding voice. He also appeared as Dockmaster Velasco, which despite the certain accent, I instantly recognised that old wise rumble.
Kay E Kuter died in November 2003, which I had no idea about- its three years ago now but it still hit me profoundly. Since 1997 I had grown up with the slow wise-witted words of Griswold on Blood Island of which, like Velasco could do humour even amongst those serious words. But though he has gone and that same wise rumble will never be heard again in any new concept, he will definately live on forever in the voices of Griswold Goodsoup and Velasco as long as the games are played.
RIP Kay E Kuter, Bartender and Sea-man
