digging.
so i went forum digging today. and i was like...holy crap i remember all these people. i also realized how retarded half (actually make that 99%) of the topics i've ever created are. not that that's changing.
anyway, it was crazy. just a quick list of some peeps that i remember, not including those from before i was here obviously:
Frenchyd
samnmax
gb122
al-backfromthebigwhoop
carl ****t...i mean shutt
meksilon
alia
captain andy
orca wail
roy...and roytordes'babe
acrylic
coj
deadmeat
remio
rufio
ernil
mr.burger
zoom rabbit
darth groovy still uses lf, but not here of course.
niko and yufster drop by once every few months.
natty showed up recently.
and i also managed to remember the good ole djg incident, as well as the awards that yufster and i hosted...and that i rehosted again later since we messed up the first time. fealiks was a monster the second time around, he won like 5 awards. of course they were "stupidest user" and "most newbie-ish non-n00b" and stuff.
good times here at the harbor. we need to get more people over here.

Wasn't that when everyone changed their personal user text to DJG, and then the admins changed other people's to DJG as well, and all these people were like "who's DJG!?!?!"
Also to remember: Greg D being a total n00b lolz - oh noes and all that hillarity. Good times!

Exactly. And then I got really pissed, and I think Natty did too. Then I went to Aresen for a while and then came back eventually, lucky for all you guys
Actually I think that kind of crap happened several times. But whatever.
I remember when we had that RPG/Battle thing and the store and stuff. And everybody gave all their points to Thrik. And you could make your own bars or something like that.
And now we're stuck talking about Myspace.

We gave them to Thrik?! I'm sure it was someone else, and people started getting really annoyed about it.

1) yes people gave them to thrik. i personally never did, but i remember he had something ridiculous like over 10000 at one point, or maybe even 20.
2) djg took place maybe two years ago, maybe more? i don't remember.
3) actually that's wrong too. it was "most newbie-ish non-newbie". kthxbai.
4) haha...oh noobs.
speaking of noobs, and as a tie-in to the myspace thread, i actually know someone whose url is myspace.com/ipwnalln00bs. she actually sits two seats away from me in my psychology class. fun stuff.

Um... Thrik, any chance you could confirm this? Only I've got the real strong feeling in my gut that I gave my points to someone else (and for the record, I gave them all to this person) and that he ended up with a riduculous amount of points.

Haha, yes, it was me. I've still got the hundred or so "Somebody has donated points to you!" PMs in my inbox.
I used them to change a load of people in the Star Wars forum's titles to "DJG".

Soon I will have that power... I just don't know what to change it to... Thrik, how about you give me a custom title? As a sign of our love? Come on, I need motivation to get to 1k.

In other words, you need motivation to spam... I'm not sure if Thrik would abide.

Yeah, I remember the lovely my new "cutsom" title thread. I think I changed a lot since then..
It seems back then you also could use points to buy a custom title for yourself or someone else. I think it was thousandanythingandthelike points per title.
And Skinkie, you should seriously consider introducing yourself before you start posting in a new forum/community. The only reason you're not banned yet is that I'm not a moderator of these boards. I fact I'm not a moderator whereever you go, even at home where I set up my own forum for sheer fun purposes I only got simple user rights. So I cannot ban myself there either, but I should because I did not introduce myself there too. So, in the end, I deleted it all, because I couldn't stand it anymore. But if Neil is going to see this, you're in trouble, man.
Yer, Neil, I know. I talk about the other one.

I remember the points system generating a lot of spam, but people also got pissed because other people were changing their custom titles in the way Thrik did to Das, (except they did it with points instead of Godly Admin priviledges) and were never able to change it back until they had enough posts or points.

Thrik had no admin pws in 2003.
I thought is was pretty fun. I never would have gotten a custom title that quick. The first ever was "Monkey" then "Threeheaded monkey" XD lol. Nah. I think "Psycho posse clown" was cool.

Hmm, so he didn't.
Ah the old Monkey Island Forum Ranks. Wannabe Pirate for anyone under ten (or thirty) posts I think, then Monkey, then Three Headed Monkey at around 500 I think. and The Custom title, but I'm not sure what you got if you didn't choose a custom title.
Good times.

They didn't abandon it, it got lost in the Forum upgrade and no one's had a chance to incorporate them back in (there's a rather long thread about it in the feedback forums).
Whether they come back or not is totally up to the Admins, but until then, people below 1000 (except Fealiks and Random admins that hardly ever post) are stuck with Registred User. :/

Just to clearify that, good times are when you can say premature ejaculation three times quickly without being ready before you finished saying it.
That or Fealiks is not a registered user at the forum you're posting in.

freezing at 999 would be hella funny. I'm not too sure if it's possible though, possibly all he'd be able to do is continuously alter your post count to 999 all the time, but that would be tiresome.

I just imagine this elaborate script that kicks in every time Fealiks posts. Before returning to the thread it would display a message telling him that his post count was reset to 999 and also half a screen of ne-ner-ne-ners.
Someone should also alter his avatar and prevent him from using his CP.
